I chose this horse last year and she got 2nd, Im not doubting her this time go Nahrain!
Was very glad to see her regain top form winning the Flower Bowl. Was very distraught seeing her flounder in Europe this year. Picked her last year in the BC, she'll probably be my pick again, provided Snow Fairy run in the Turf.
That's the Nahrain I've been wondering where she's been all season long? This filly looked a real talent last season when shipping to France and winning the G1 Prix De l'Opera and then coming within mere inches of winning the G1 BC F&M Turf. But she had been struggling this season in 3 running's of the G2 Windsor Forest Stakes, G1 Nassau Stakes, and G2 Blandford Stakes in Ireland. She certainly showed a brilliant turn of foot today to win the G1 Flower Bowl Stakes. I'd say it's a pretty safe bet Roger Varian will have this filly at Santa Anita in November.

  • icyhotboo · @Iluvturracing, I appreciate your replies to me as I'm just learning about turf racing and only because I got hooked on it watching Zarkava on U-Tube endlessly along with other greats of turf. This was my analysis of the race. I also handicap by money as one venue and I must see the horses before the race or I don't bet as another condition beside the other more common handicapping methods. The #8 Nahrain having only 3 starts this year but being on lasix 1st time made me look closer and also being a fully mature 4yo who looked great before the race.Last year Nahrain had average earnings of 130k compared to average earnings this year of the #1,50k,#4,118k ,#7,80k. I used her on top of the #1,#4,#7, in the tri and super 5 each times for total cost of $60. I was also impressed as she has the same sire as Cityscape who even though beaten wasn't near form of Dubai. In the Joe Hirsch Turf I played #2 Point of Entry, #3 Treasure Beach, #9 Finnegans Wake, straight for $30 Tri. I used Finnegans Wake simply because he looked to have grown so large I though over the 1 1/2 miles his long stride would get 3rd, I was wrong but that's the best I can do with turf right now. My handicapping there comes down to average money, company run in, looks, and how a horse looks. The more I watch it seems a great deal of the turf horses are long and sleek as opposed to muscular. Again I really appreciate your input on my comments as I am trying to learn more about turf racing. I can't seem to figure how they come up with the Timeform ratings but obviously there's a system I'm unaware of. Have a nice day. · 262 days ago ·

But Misty For Me had an extremely wide PP draw to overcome, plus she stumbled down to her knees coming out of the gate, and nearly went completely down, and she was still still closing like a shot.
