What the Nation is saying about My Conquestadory...

Any news on her?? She was one of my favorite horses last year and one I was most excited about this year. I was thinking last year that the Ashland might be an early season goal but that has come and gone. Anyone have any updates on her?
Trainer Mark Casse was all fired up about the prospect of running Mike Rutherford’s homebred Resistivity in Saturday’s $500,000 Central Bank Ashland (G1) until post positions were drawn Wednesday and Resistivity drew No. 13.Read More

I didn't like the decision to run in the turf and I was right

Ruff you keep giving thos eopinions before the fact.As long as they are calculated and you are happy with them, that is all that matters. Not like some who post crap and then are not arounf to talk about them. · 164 days ago ·

  • LAZMANNICK · Hey Rafi. I haven’t been around much myself lately. Basketball is all set to start and I’m guessing you’ll be up for that. I would like to see the Raptors do something for a change. My comment about the three graded races in about seven weeks was made more as a concern about what My Conquestadory will be like next year if they ask her to do too much in so short a period of time and at such a young age this year. Actually, I think that if she would have had several short sprints through the summer to build her up she would be a lot better off and would handle these three stakes races much easier than simply jumping right into them. I think that she’ll be at the top of her game come BC day though, but after that race, and if it’s particularly tough, I’m wondering about next year. How many two year old BC stars ever amount to much at three? Surprisingly few going back to Arazi. I’m glad that some of the top colts are bypassing the BC like Honor Code and Schoolofhardrocks, etc. It should make for an exciting buildup to the Derby as there are a lot of good two year olds this year. · 172 days ago ·

  • tmallios1 · Actually,in the NYRA feed. The only person i listen to is Maggie ,when she comes on.I have come to notice that she has the keenest eye in spotting horses from a physical perspective. She has been around horses for a while. She is very good at it.I like you,do listen for the Andy trashing.Almost like clockwork, you know they will be there at the end.If you are playing today at Belmont. In the 2nd race .The #1 horse Buddys Smart, was told about him a few months back.Nice horse,in his first time out . He fell back and ran when the trck was a highway and speed was carrying huge. The 2 &3 ran fast in their debuts.Buddy will be a Million to one here> might be worth a peek. · 171 days ago ·

  • amino998 · In the Marathon, if breeding, last year’s Hawthorne Gold Cup, and HRN fan rating are taken into account, Pool Play and Cease, Casse and Jacobsen, should be together. Can’t promise which time by the stands. Blueskies .03 HRN edge is of no consequence :) after all, PP & C both have Cox’s Ridge on the bottom. · 174 days ago ·

  • Davidm9999 · I certainly hope Clenor works lights out befor the BC. Why? I want to play against her aggressively. She has run slower than par while beating absolutley nothing in SoCal where the division stinks. I don't think she has been extended but if she takes heavy money (she will) find other viable options who are battle tested versus some real competition. · 179 days ago ·

  • EP Taylor · Also, instead of pointing to the Derby or Oaks, why not go the Wesley Ward way and try for a foreign classic on turf. No Nay Never is gonna give it a shot. · 188 days ago ·

  • Buckpasser · In the past many top horses raced on both grass and dirt like Kelso, Swaps, Round Table, etc. Etc. I am always surprised that more horses these days don't try turf. Also just a small point about the Meadowlands and turf racing. In the negotiations that were conducted over NJ racing awhile back, Monmouth wanted to hold a meet at the Meadowlands. The TB people wanted a dirt meet, but Jeff Gural the new owner of the Meadowlands racetrack refused because he had put over 200k into changing the surface for the harness horses and rebanking the turns so all post positions had a shot to win. He did not want to make any changes to the dirt surface for the TBs or put up a railing instead of the pylons. So He and Monmouth agreed to have a turf meet instead. Also it should be noted that the main reason Monmouth wanted to hold meet at The Meadowlands at all had to do with simulcasting fees and also if the Meadowlands ever got slots, they ( Monmouth) were looking for a piece of the revenue. · 188 days ago ·
