  • rafirox · This is a really, really nice colt. Romped in the Dwyer (against nobodies), ran behind two G1 colts in the Jim Dandy, came 2nd in the Travers (really slow pace benefitted him, though), ran decent in the PA Derby (2nd by 2 1/2), decent in the CT Classic, and held on in contention despite a blistering pace in his last out. This is a top level colt, IMO. I like the thought of dropping in distance for him. With Shakin It Up (really consistent, solid graded horse), Goldencents (G1 miler, world class), Palace Malice (G1 horse, world class) and this guy .... the Met Mile is going to be star-studded, filled with G1 quality, and should be a hell of a race. I can't wait. · 1033 days ago
  • rafirox · Those are all the REALLY good entrants, but don't forget Central Banker, Golden Ticket and Normandy Invasion have all run well when they are on their game. I can't wait. · 1033 days ago
Moreno, third in the $1.5 million Charles Town Classic behind Imperative and Game On Dude April 19, worked five furlongs on Santa Anita’s main track Friday in 1:01 for trainer Eric Guillot, who has the 4-year-old set for the Grade III Pimlico Special on May 16. Joel Rosario rides in the mile and three-sixteenths race.
Could mess up GOD race
Why did he scratch?
Scratched for the Oaklawn Handicap

He'd be a much better horse under a different trainer.
  • EP Taylor · Maybe a change in distances they run?. He is by Ghostzapper and shown he can run 10f, and 9f, but with his speed, why not try a Mile? take a shot in the westchester at Belmont in april and see what you got. · 1134 days ago

I think this horse would have a HUGE chance to win the dirt mile but instead is going to be in a race he has no chance in

  • cleclair1994 · I dont see moreno as pure speed either. thats why i would like him in the mile. in the classic i dont think he would be able to sit off the liked of game on dude. he would just have no chance of going by and holding off other horses. In the mile i think he could sit second or third off of goldencents or verrazano and make one run · 1251 days ago
  • tmallios1 · Vic, i do understand the importance of pace.It dictates about 75% of my decision making. My point to you,as i asked yesterday.Horses by themselves cannot run at maximu speed te entire race. That is impossible.Who decides this very important facet that you and i agree with 100 %. If you ask me,it is the so called irrelevant jock on his or her back. With more than likely the instructions of the almost as useless trainers. So if anyone othet than the human element has a say, please enlighten me as to who it may be. · 1251 days ago
