Midnight Transfer, 7th when last seen in the SA Derby, was recently diagnosed with a non-displaced condylar fracture of a cannon bone. He underwent successful surgery and has been turned out for three months.

Saw him one morning last Dec. on my first visit to SA. (East coast resident) Been away from racing for many YEARS, and went looking for painting inspiration. He is IT. Started some oil paintings of him without knowing anything about him--not even his name. Did research to find that Carla trains him and just learned his name today. So excited to find out the fancy horse who inspired my flurry of SA paintings is Midnight Transfer. Hope he and Mike have an awesome trip in the SA Derby. Am so excitd, you'd think I owned him.
