It was business as usual on the Kentucky Derby 2012 trail last weekend with favorites Gemologist and Alpha running 1-2 in the G1 Wood Memorial and highly regarded colts I’ll Have Another and Creative Cause noses apart in the G1 Santa Anita Derby. Done Talking upset the G3 Illinois Derby but that rac...Read More

  • DedaBaber · This is a RECEHORSE! If he can go the distance... ? Built like a sprinter, but heart of a BIG horse. SA Derby will tell the tale. I said that for his last 2 turns which he finished a good 3rd but will try once more. Hey, 83-1 in the future book... Has a good trainer! · 52 days ago ·

Saw him one morning last Dec. on my first visit to SA. (East coast resident) Been away from racing for many YEARS, and went looking for painting inspiration. He is IT. Started some oil paintings of him without knowing anything about him--not even his name. Did research to find that Carla trains him and just learned his name today. So excited to find out the fancy horse who inspired my flurry of SA paintings is Midnight Transfer. Hope he and Mike have an awesome trip in the SA Derby. Am so excitd, you'd think I owned him.
There were surprises galore on the Kentucky Derby 2012 trail last weekend with Take Charge Indy going all the way in the G1 Florida Derby and 109-1 bomb Hero of Order stunning his rivals in the G2 Louisiana Derby. I recapped the G1 Florida Derby here on Sunday and in the video below. I have always l...Read More

  • irishbrave · I just watched the head-on replay again--when Bodemeister drifted out a bit, CC may have had a Futurity flashback :0. Happy to be able to leg out, too. I don't think he needs the whip either, and anybody who even looked heavy-handed with it would never be on him anyway. The hardest part of riding CC, I think, is getting him to STOP! · 62 days ago ·

  • Mary Z. · Who could blame Creative Cause for having Del Mar Futurity flashbacks? He was almost mortally squished. Thank you for the insight about him, irishbrave. · 62 days ago ·
