  • BrianZipse · “The X-ray showed that she had some bruising in the condyles, which in itself is not a major issue, but you can’t run,” he said. “Right now it’s not serious; it’s not even an injury.” ~Jimmy Toner · 284 days ago ·

  • likin sparks · Well not sure if it's just bruising or degeneration of the condylar, if it's a degenerative bone disease then possibly down the road she'll end up lame, non curable and partially heriditary. Bruising cures with rest so hopefully it's not a serious condition. · 284 days ago ·

This Saturday at Keeneland, Winter Memories will try and win the Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup (G1), just like her mother, Memories of Silver, did back in 1996. Read More
  • BrianZipse · I was a big fan of Memories of Silver, but honestly, I don't think she had quite the talent that her daughter does. · 587 days ago ·

  • Bluegrass · Agreed, but she sure was a tough filly, winning big races after coming back from surgery, twice, like she did. (Thanks for reading!) · 587 days ago ·

Darby Dan Farm began life in Kentucky in 1949. Following the death of E.R. Bradley in 1946, his Idle Hour Farm, on Old Frankfort Pike in Lexington, was sold, and John Galbreath, who had begun Darby Dan Farm in Ohio, bought a portion of the property. Winter Memories doesn’t race…Read More
  • LindaReppert · Winter Memories is delightfully promising. Perhaps she has not raced everyone, but they have as much of a chance to enter to race with her than she has to enter the races she does. Good Girl. Show them today in The Woodbine. No gray i don't ignore, they are the best when they are! · 640 days ago ·

American racing needs some new stars, and if you are a fan of turf racing like I am, you could say we desperately need a star. After being disappointed with the news last week that a horse I believed could fill that role very nicely, Paddy O'Prado, had been retired because of injury, it did not take...Read More

  • KyOaksRunner · If this was a sampling of how she's going to run for the rest of the year then there is no doubt she's going to put together a very special campaign. I don't think there anything on turn in the US that comes close to a kick like her's! · 721 days ago ·

  • DeadHeat · She looks like she could be a great horse. Has such an explosive turn of foot, not many other American Turf horses can match that quality of speed. · 720 days ago ·

To trainer Jimmy Toner, Darby Dan Farm’s legacy has long been cemented in thoroughbred racing history.   “The whole farm is built on the foundation of these fillies they’ve had for generations,” said Toner. “You talk about Claiborne, the Phipps family, Juddmonte, and Darby Dan – they’re all par...Read More
On Oct. 3, I was sitting at Belmont Park watching the Grade 3 Miss Grillo with a trainer who knows a thing or two about winners; he’s trained horses that have won all three legs of the Triple Crown and the Travers; he’s trained two Breeders’ Cup winners. And as he watched Winter Memories fly home to...Read More
