The 2012 G1 July Cup winner, Mayson, has been ruled out of Saturday's G1 Sprint Cup at Haydock Park after a dirty scope on Thursday morning. Trainer Richard Fahey, who has taken over the training of Mayson since Cheveley Park Stud Ltd. recently purchased controlling interest from David W Armstrong, said that Mayson had been working out of his skin lately, and it was a big disappointment that he came up with a dirty scope this morning and will miss the G1 Sprint Cup this weekend.
Recent G1 July Cup winner, Mayson, has been sold from David Armstrong to Cheveley Park Stud Ltd., and his training will now be taken over by sprint specialist, Robert Cowell. Mayson is probable for the upcoming G1 Nunthorpe Stakes at York on August 24th. Cowell has also taken over training of Kingsgate Native from long time trainer, Sir Michael Stoute, for Cheveley Park Stud, Ltd. Kingsgate Native is also listed as "possible" for the Nunthorpe Stakes.
