What the Nation is saying about May Day Rose...

We have yet to get through this weekend, and I am already looking ahead to the next weekend. I absolutely cannot help it! The Sunshine Millions series is shaping up to be a good one this year, and I am crushed that I probably will not be able to get down to Florida to watch the action first-hand. Si...Read More

I also made this comment on the page about Turbulent Descent in the Lebrea. (Too bad I can't comment anymore) I put May Day Rose in my virtual stable after she had a nice workout for a half a mile, and breezed home in the LeBrea. Look for her possibly to wake up in a grade 2 around 7 furlongs. My quote: "May Day Rose had a workout 5 days ago, and looks dangerous. The one month layoff from her last race to her first workout on Dec. 5th makes me wonder if her legs are a little tender after battling for a mile on on Nov. 5th. Is Baffert pointing to a grade 2 instead?" Heres the link to the article I can't comment on: http://www.horseracingnation.com/news/Turbulent_Descent_looks_for_Redemtion_in_La_Brea_123 Good luck trying to bring that article to the homepage.

  • medlocke · The Santa Anita Oaks should be another great race between these two classy fillies. It will be the fourth time they've faced each other in their short careers. Looking at the three previous races between Turbulent Decent and Zazu, It appears to me that Turbulent Decent has the edge on the synthetic surface. Having beaten Zazu in the Moccasin Stakes and the Hollywood Starlet Stakes. Both times on the all-weather at Hollywood Park. But it looked as if Zazu may have the quicker turn of foot on conventional dirt between the two. When she reversed form on Turbulent Decent and beat her at Santa Anita in the Las Virgenes Stakes. Turbulent Decent ran very well in that race on the dirt also. But I'd have to give an ever so slight edge in the Santa Oaks to Zazu with the race being back on the dirt again at Santa Anita.
