Best Mandaean's looked since he was still in Andre Fabre's yard in France and won the G1 Criterium De Saint-Cloud in his second career start back in late 2011. I don't mean to sound like a broken record, but Mandaean's another in a long list of horses who looked like the sky could be the limit for when being trained by the master, Andre Fabre, in France, but who's level of form took a drastic dip once Sheikh Mohammed had him transferred from Andre Fabre and the Godolphin SNC operation in France to Godolphin's main yard. Just calling a spade a spade when I say Andre Fabre has forgotten more about training champion thoroughbreds than Saeed Bin Suroor and Mahmood Al Zarooni could ever hope to learn between them collectively if they both continued to train horses for another 20 years, and that's just a plain, simple fact. But it was nice to see a colt that looked to have so much promise as a 2yo come back to a promising level of form again like Mandaean did at Meydan today!!

  • northport · Good to see Mandaean back in the winner's circle. I love Godolphin as an establishment, but I tend to cringe when I see some of their better horses from the US, France, Ireland, Australia etc get transferred to Bin Suroor and Al Zarooni. · 1252 days ago
  • On The Gallop's · Noble Mission was another horse that won his maiden at Stakes level, then followed it up with another stakes win the next start. But then it was 14 months till he got another win in a GR3 race. Then went winless since. Don't forget this is Frankel's full brother. · 1252 days ago
