You know how everyone claims their "horse"? Well I claim this one. Call me crazy, but I think he's got tons of potential. Look at his last race. Instead of breaking 2nd like he likes and pressing, he broke 6th and last and had to trail, which is not comfortable for him and not ideal for a sprinter. Into the the stretch, he passed two horses, and came pretty closer to the other three. Not to mention he's the first horse I started following from two year olds on up (I used to pick on Derby day and not go from juveniles) and from that year of three that I picked as two year olds (Majestic City, Overdriven, Union Rags) He's the only one still racing. I've liked him for two years, and now he's coming back into himself. He has quality speed (he ran 7f in 1:22 and change behind Paynter) and I think he can be a really good sprinter. So I have now claimed him! :)

  • Mike in SB · Paynter's big race shows what is missing in racing today, top class older males. Think about how good for the sport it would be if I'll Have Another, Union Rags, Bodiemeister, Hansen etc were running as 4 year olds. Racing needs to change the purse structure with more money for the traditional handicap races for older horses and less for 2 and 3 year olds and sprinters to encourage owners to keep horses on the track. · 388 days ago ·
