  • humphrey · Lauren Stitch arguing one of the "theoreticals" went on and on about Smarty Jones all the while the INDIVIDUAL right there in front of her was making a shambles out of all her "theoreticals." Can she, or ANYONE for that matter, know what genes makeup speed, which multiple groups of genes make up stamina, heart, desire to win? NO ONE CAN since NO one knows what genetic material first accounts for the phenotype and then NO ONE knows what are in the gametes that created the individual running. Basing performance on anything other than the individual right in front of you is bad scientific processing. In any one breeding the chances of predicting the exact genetic components of the offspring (without even knowing what genes account for what physical characteristics) is a well played out con game that keeps a lot of these "theoreticals" in the business. The BRIDE couldn't beat a fat man down a hill, the four full siblings of Northern Dancer and Ribot were not runners but they had exactly the same parents.....It is guess work at its best. · 1124 days ago ·
