What the Nation is saying about Lookin At Lucky...

Lookin at Lucky was the Juvenile Champion of 2009. That year, he won six of seven starts, with only a narrow, tough luck defeat in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile. The attractive son of Smart Strike followed that lone two-year-old loss with a score in the Grade 1 CashCall Futurity in his juvenile finale....Read More

  • https://www.facebook.com/crystal.david.948 · I fell in love with him as a two year old and was sure he would win the Derby. He had some really bad luck in that race or maybe things would have been different. Was definitely broken hearted when they retired him that year after saying he was going to run at 4. Could not believe that Gomez gave him several bad rides in a row (and that is what got him beat in my opinion). Was glad Baffert finally took him off but wish he had done it a race sooner for the Derby. Lookin forward to seeing his sons/daughters starting this year! · 36 days ago ·

A 6x G1 winner (also 2nd in BC Juvenile and 3rd in Santa Anita Derby) and 3x G2 winner. A G1 winner from 7-9.5f... He came out of the money TWICE (6th in troublesome KY Derby, 4th in deep 2010 BC Classic) in a 13 race career. He's by Smart Strike. He's got very nice conformation. Very talented and best from his crop; bar none... I'm thinking he could be a very nice stallion. Thoughts?
If anyone is having thoughts of purchasing Foals by Lookin At Lucky, do NOT hesitate. I have purchased a Weanling Filly here in Australia that i now a Yearling and she is turning into a very nice horse that should be able to gallop. I will probably sell her at a Yearling Sale or a Ready To Run Sale, but if I don't get my reserve I will be more than happy to race her myself as she is from a very good family

  • AndyScoggin · That just shows how tough it is to actually get the horse you want with all the outs and RNAs. It will be fun to follow your picks to see how they run. I look forward to seeing you again at BC13! · 208 days ago ·

  • CauseForConcern · Laurie, I have not been one to anticipate yearling sales in the past, but your article drew some interest. I was disappointed in the early retirement of Majesticperfection. He had beaten the eventual BC Sprint Champ, Big Drama, with ease, prior to his retirement due to injury. He was bought by Airdrie Stables, and, I think, this might be his first crop. Did you, by chance, spot any offspring of his at this sale? · 208 days ago ·
