  • kay.robinett · They need 10 furlong and longer races at every level, including claiming, starter allowance, allowance, and listed stakes. When we went to Keeneland last month I was thrilled they had a 10 furlong starter allowance on the main track. Had a good sized field (which makes me hope they will schedule one like it again) and the winner came home in a respectable 2:01.4. If they card more distance races at all levels then breeders might try to breed more distance oriented runners. · 612 days ago
  • Sullivan · kay, that is exactly what I believe as well. No one will breed for distance when the only reason to do so is the Belmont. · 612 days ago
