5-1-2-1 is not a bad record and he has never finished worse than fourth and that was in the G1-Florida Derby. Plus in his other three losses he was only beaten a combined 5 1/4 lengths so he could easily be 5-3-0-1

Yes, Lentenor is indeed off of the Derby trail, but he has great promise to become a champion turf horse by August, as Michael Matz has already concluded.
It sounds like Lentenor is off the Derby trail. Matz told the DRF it's off to allowance company next. "He basically was telling us what we already knew, that he was green and inexperienced going into this race," said Matz. "He really wasn't ready for something like that yet. We'll back off a little, give him a conditioned race, get his confidence back, and hopefully by August we'll have a real nice 3-year-old."
