I wish there was more data in race results? Was the JCGC at 12 or 16 furlongs?

  • LarryDickson · Thanks, you just confirmed my own data. I don't care for it as just a prep of Breeder's Classic....Has lost it's stature · 473 days ago ·

  • MaidenKing · As a teen-ager, began playing the races at Suffolk Downs in the early 1980's. Timely Writer was the horse that put our track on the map at the time and everybody at the East Boston oval was rooting for him whenever he ran and we were crushed when he died on the track. Great horse, tragic ending. · 944 days ago ·

  • zatt · I was there, Bill. I still consider this the deepest field I have ever seen in the Travers, such a shame that the track was a bit of a mess. Pleasant Colony, Lord Avie, Five Star Flight, Noble Nashua, Lemhi Gold, Summing were all such excellent horses ... I still can't believe Willow Hour won it. Blame the Saratoga slop! · 975 days ago ·
