  • 12thCrown · Not sure how many of you frequent Oaklawn, so while there won't be a "Cougar Day" per se, there are plenty of eligible ladies and dudes hanging around the second level sports bar. Seriously though, it's an extremely social place where people do care about the horses. · 127 days ago ·

The inaugural running of the Gulfstream Park Derby at Gulfstream Park drew a tough, evenly matched field. • DeadHeat · And many of you need one in reality. What i said is completely true. If you want to be technical, over 90 of horses in this sport are not clean, but are because of what is made legal. Winstrol was at the time, so even it showed up in Curlin's blood, it would have been fine. I also provided you with facts above that say that that particular drug does not produce much weight gain or muscle gain, unlike typical steroids. That particular drug is actually used to treat conditions that cause swelling, and it reduces it. Swelling typically comes from when blood flows highly to one area of the body causing it to swell and become stiff and painful. If it reduces swelling then this drug would be an equivalent to aprin or motrin to humans. · 208 days ago ·

  • likin sparks · I know where Mike is coming from, with this years race is kinda weak where half the competion has had a difficult time placing in the money so I wouldn't think the WOW factor will be there. As much as I haven't been sold on Stay Thirsty for him not to win by 7 or 10 lenghts would be a kick in the can. · 242 days ago ·

  • gocashking · I don't buy that a horse lost because it "couldn't see" its opponent. It's a convenient excuse similar to the dreaded "cuppy track" in my opinion. I see thousands of races every year where horses CAN see there opponent going by and it doesn't make the slightest bit of difference. · 257 days ago ·

  • ohio adversary · Although probably irrelevant to the debate, I'd like to add that horses are unable to see objects that are directly in front of their faces--a "blind spot" due to the eyes being positioned so far apart. Just a little equine trivia! · 256 days ago ·

My earlier comments on this subject were made in haste, as from being upset about having just learned of PON's being retired due to injury. My apologies, as I'm certain that Lawyer Ron's connections didn't wish for his colic complications to lead to his euthanization. Very sorry for the loss. · 1044 days ago ·
