Kite Wood

This is one of Godolphin Stable's better prospects, IMO. I really thought that at some point during the recent 2010 Dubai Racing Carnival that Godolphin may bring Kite Wood to Dubai and race him at some point at Meydan. I'd say, even though Mastery got the better of him in the 09' St. Leger, that Kite Wood is considered to be at least on even terms if not a slot better than Mastery. With Group Stakes wins in the Bahrain Trophy at Newmarket in July. The Geoffrey Freer Stakes at Newbury in August, and a 2nd place effort, very narrowly edged out by stablemate Mastery in the St. Leger at Doncaster in September. Kite Wood's victories have came in long distance races, making him a colt with a great deal of stamina. 4 wins and 2 place efforts in 8 lifetime starts, Kite Wood's wins have came at distances of 1mile 5furlongs in the Bahrain Trophy. 1mile 5furlongs +61yds. in the Geoffrey Freer Stakes. And 1mile 6furlongs + 132yds. in his St. Leger place effort. I thought maybe Kite Wood may be entered in the Dubai World Cup as an entry with Mastery, and Allybar. Or the 1-1/2 mile Sheema Classic as an entry with Cavalryman, Goldolphin Stables newest expensive purchase. I really think Kite Wood as an extra Godolphin entry with Cavalryman in the 2010 Sheema Classic would have been a tough combination in the race to beat for the boys in blue. TJMO.
