I know my blog is late this week, but I was waiting for my niece to visit from Cleveland. While she was here, I took her to a place where magic can happen. The place adults have been taking children to experience a bit of this magic for years. I took her to Churchill Downs. Read More

  • cugel the clever · Zatt said "Astrology has been beaten consistently by lesser horses, he's a possibility to turn it around, but I can't bet him". Nonsense. Astrology is one of only 6 horses in this race who has won a graded stakes race. And that six does not include Mr.C. Astrology has also placed 2nd in three other graded stakes races in his career. He belongs in this race more than does most of the field. I pick him for 4th but won't be surprised if he's closer. · 372 days ago ·

  • crazy horse · Mr Commons is my LS play along with Sway Away. I don't know why anyone would be more than a little worried about Dialed In, Astrology or Midnight Interlude and I'd be very worried about Flashpoint. Have you seen what Wesley does with 1stW/Trn? Of course, the only way he or any other front runner will win is if they run :47 or slower. · 372 days ago ·

Just read that Albarado will be picking up the mount on King Congie. Here is a quote from Terry Finley. "Given what happened to him in the Derby, I would have to think he’ll be more focused and dialed in, plus he’s won a Preakness, and we want to take advantage of that..."

  • TiznowReynolds · Sad to say but anymore the Bluegrass just isn't a great race. Pretty much a turf race that lets a horse get in who probably won't impact the Derby. The losers of the Bluegrass lately have been one's to watch it seems like. · 404 days ago ·

Brilliant Speed, unhurried in the early going under Joel Rosario, stormed down the middle of the track to nip Twinspired at the wire in Saturday's Grade 1 Blue Grass Stakes at Keeneland. Read More
  • bband · Good work if you had Brilliant Speed. This horse was tough to have in a wide open race. I agree that Twinspired ran very well. But it's hard to bank on any of these doing well at Churchill. Then again, Paddy O'Prado looked like a turf horse last year, before running a good third in the Derby. · 406 days ago ·
