Great horse. Sad he died. ):
“Rest in Peace, Kensei.” I saw those words last week on Facebook, and my heart just sank. Kensei had been a horse that I watched and admired for the better part of four seasons, and in the time that it took me to read four simple words, I knew he was gone. Kensei was a five-year-old son of Mr. Greel...Read More

RIP.... This is so sad.... He had been running so well lately.
So sorry to hear. He ran so well at Monmouth earlier in the summer.
Kensei, winner of Saratoga’s Grade 2 Jim Dandy in 2009, was euthanized on Tuesday after breaking down during a gallop over the Belmont Park training track. Owned by Stonestreet Stables and trained by Steve Asmussen, the 5-year-old son of Mr. Greeley suffered a broken right front cannon bone, and was...Read More

Sunrise Smarty dashed to the front and held the lead for a half at 19-1. The longshot began to fade and Yawanna Twist, Apriority, and Morning Line took up the running...Read More

  • medlocke · Espoir City is a very talented colt to say the least. He lends a very good international flavor to this year's Breeders Cup Classic. 6 wins and 2 place efforts in 9 lifetime starts. 4 of his 6 win's are G1 victories. He likes to do his running on the front end, and his plenty of front running speed. I would expect to see Espoir City somewhere very near the front of the race along with Haynesfield and Quality Road. If there's a knock on this colt that could be called into question, it would be his stamina? How well, if at all, will Espoir City handle 10 furlongs? Of his 9 races on conventional dirt in Japan, Espoir City has raced 6 times at a mile, and 3 times at 9 furlongs. He's yet to ever attempt 1-1/4 in his career. The talent is certainly there for all to see with this colt. But the Breeders Cup Classic field, IMO, will be a very difficult first time testing ground to try and answer the 10 furlong question with? TJMO. · 465 days ago ·

  • curlin · Honestly, compared to american or european racing how tough is japanese racing? I mean, are the quality of horses on par with what we have here. I doubt it personally. · 461 days ago ·

  • cugel the clever · WRITING YOUR OPINION IN CAPITAL LETTERS DOES NOT MAKE IT A FACT. Naming the "Best Horse" always has been, and always will be, an OPINION, not a FACT. In my opinion, beating the best males in the world three times (instead of once), setting multiple track and stakes records (instead of none) and beating horses at 8 different tracks is a more worthy record than 16 in a row against Grade III competition. · 601 days ago ·
