"GALTEE BOY (1902) was a brown colt out of the Pellegrino mare Milanaise. As a three-year-old partnered by Jimmy Winkfield, he captured the Polish Derby and the Nagroda Przychowku. A disappointment at stud, he did sire Allegro, a black colt foaled in 1913. Allegro made no recorded starts and was sent to the newly-formed Kingdom of Yugoslavia after World War I. His best performer was Great Hope, winner at three in 1933 of the Jugoslovenski Trial Stakes and Jugoslovenski Derbi, both at Belgrade." Info at this website: http://www.tbheritage.com/Portraits/GalteeMore.html. Otherwise, no, I don't know of him first-hand. Was this the horse to which you were referring?

  • AnnaK · Here's another, you probably tried www.curragh.ie, and their history section where you can contact and ask. Found out that curragh means place of the running horse. Nice to know. · 1358 days ago
Does anyone have information about Galtee Boy, an Irish Draught cross from Northern Cork?
