Older Comments about Kathmanblu...

I've been searching high and low for news of what's happened to her. Today, I learned she's been retired, due to suffering from a mild liver inflammation that's kept her from racing. She'll be sold at the Keeneland November breeding stock sale. http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/articles/71357/grade-ii-winner-kathmanblu-retired
No offense to Kathmanblu lovers, she may not be as good as ppl think she is.
  • Thead'or · Neither is Zazu if you go by that logic. She had every chance to pass St.Johns River and Plum Pretty, but she just couldn't. And shes SUPPOSED to be a distance horse. But the poor thing had to get exposed by a 20-1 shot. Kathmanblu is very talented, but I think shes more of a grass horse. · 2152 days ago
Mike Watchmaker in the DRF: Kathmanblu was the solid favorite in the Kentucky Oaks Future Wager pool, but her stock took a hit with the result of the Fair Grounds Oaks. Inglorious, the 6-5 favorite Saturday on the basis of her close second to Kathmanblu in the Rachel Alexandra, finished a flat fourth to the overachieving Daisy Devine. I know I’ve said it before, but I think Kathmanblu is best on turf.
  • cigar · Each passing week, these crops get less and less exciting. The Oaks is wide open, while the Derby looks to be one horse plus the rest... we'll see what the next few weekends show us. · 2190 days ago
  • Thead'or · With Awesome Feather [Possibly] Out of the picture, it appears so. But I still have faith in Kathy. The Churchill Dirt is different from the Fair Grounds. · 2190 days ago
The Times-Picayune is reporting Kathmanblu will pass on the FG Oaks and point for the Ashland instead.
this year is for jockey J.Leparoux, he is going to take kentucky oaks and derby like calvin borel did in 2009.
Julien Leparoux is my opinion very intelligent jockey and his riding style li like vetarn jockey Alex Solis. come off the space.
It's all about kathmanblu. I really think she cain't be beat especially the way she's developing into a monster. I keep on saying this but kathmanblu has a lot of potential to be the best and shes only going to get better .
I love this filly! I was so disappointed after her Breeders cup race. It is good to see her bounce back from it and rule the track since then. Also, great riding from Leparoux.
kathmanblu is a really special filly with a lot of potential to be the best . she has more fight in her than what she had in the breeders cup . I was gonna bet $2000 to win on her nose only to find out it was no wager available for fairgrounds at the great race place in santa anita. Instead i bet $2000 exacta straight 1-5 in the san luis obispo and i came a nose short from winning .
Kathmanblu wins and looked good, but the Canadian filly looks like she is for real!
  • ajump08 · Kathmanblu was simply prepping though, and the sandy surface may no have been her liking. None of those will be able to challenge her as the Oaks comes closer. · 2228 days ago
  • zatt · Just got in a little Queen's Plate action on Inglorious. · 2228 days ago
Kath, good luck to Rachel Alexandra <3
I'm glad to see she will be back on dirt next time, the Rachel Alexandra will be next for the future winner of the Kentucky Oaks.
Freshman sire is getting winners over all surfaces and Kathmanblu is his first representative over turf. Kathmanblu’s dam was a stakes placed dirt sprinter and a half sister to Grade 1 winner Friendly Michelle.
