What the Horse Racing Nation is talking about...

Making his first start since a second in the 2009 Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1), dual Eclipse Award winner Gio Ponti engaged front-running pacesetter Karelian in a stretch-long drive but failed to win the photograph in Saturday’s Tampa Bay Breeders’ Cup. Under Ramon Dominguez, Gio Ponti ...Read More
Gio Ponti, the champion male turf horse and champion older male of 2009, was upset at 1-5 odds in his seasonal debut Feb. 20 when 5-1 shot Karelian won a head bob and the $150,000 Tampa Bay Breeders' Cup.Read More
Robert E. Courtney’s Rahystrada, dismissed in the wagering at odds of 56.90-to-1, charged from off the pace on Friday to defeat nine opponents in the $112,700 River City Handicap (G3) at Churchill Downs.Read More

It's been a long and storied career for Einstein and his trainer Helen Pitts-Blasi. The long road which featured victories on all surfaces from coast-to-coast comes to an end when on Friday he takes on a full field for the Clark Handicap at Churchill Downs.Read More

Karelian may have been named for a comic book character, but he will be all business in the TVG Breeders' Cup Mile (gr. IT).Read More
Karelian has had just four starts in the last two years, a spotty record that has made aiming for races such as Saturday's $2 million Breeders Cup Mile at Santa Anita seem like a far-fetched plan. That changed on Oct. 10 when Karelian finished second at 10-1 in the Grade 1 Shadwell Turf Mile at Keene...Read More
  • invasor · Karelean is the super dark horse in the Breeders Cup Mile. Might be the most overlooked horse over the entire two days of racing · 135 days ago
Will the Euros dominate the Mile? Maybe not if Justenuffhumor shows up.Read More
  • arazi · I agree Justenuffhumor is a strong play in the Mile. He's proven over firm turf and although he could be off form, you'd feel silly not to forgive him for one bad race over soft turf and a slow pace. Another possibility is that Justenuff bounced. He ran a lifetime top in the Fourstardave, then ran back to it in the Bernard Baruch and then bounced big time at Keeneland. I haven't looked at the sheets yet, but those guys might say this guy has improved a ton since he started running in December and that it was inevitable he would bounce after the two big efforts. They would also say that he will need more time to come back. However, at 12-1, you have to use him strongly and take a shot it was the soft turf. What'sthescript running late for a piece is also a nice call... as former Miler's usually do better their second try... and he will be a fat price. · 137 days ago
  • Rossington · I don't think Justenuffhumor has enough to win the mile. I think, even though Goldikova is a very talented filly, Delegator is the horse to beat in the mile. My mile tri-fecta is Delegator, Gladiatorus, and Goldikova with Zacinto coming in 4th. jmo. · 136 days ago
IEAH Stables' DIAMONDRELLA (GB) (Rock of Gibraltar [Ire]) and COURT VISION (Gulch) left the Keeneland barn area at 7 a.m. (EDT) Sunday to return to their home bases in New York after capturing the First Lady (G1) and the Shadwell Turf Mile (G1), respectively, on Saturday.Read More
There is so much to discuss after the weekend's stakes extravaganza, but one race that likely had the most profound effect on the Breeders' Cup was the Goodwood Stakes (gr. I).Read More
  • Rossington · I say now or never for Zenyatta. If she had been entered in the Goodwood Stakes, Gitano Hernando or not, she could have won that race. There really wasn't much there to beat, imo. MTB who hasn't won a race since the Ky. Derby, Colonel John who runs well on the surface but is a bit overmatched in the Classic, Informed and Parading, whom neither have ran to par for some time now. So with Sea the Stars now retired, I say let Zenyatta run against the boys. Quality Road or Summer Bird are neither proven on the surface. Of the American entries, only Einstein may give her trouble. So let her run, so what if she finished 3rd to Rip Van Winkle and Midshipman. No shame in that. · 156 days ago
