Just A Way hold on by nose to win the G1 Yasuda Kinen, beating Grand Prix Boss by a nose. Right before posting this comment I checked Timeform's global rankings and Treve is still #1 at 134 with Timeform saying she showed enough against CDA even in defeat in the Prix Ganay to not be lowered. Just A Way & Toronado are tied at #2 with a 133 rating. Then comes Lankan Rupee & Olympic Glory both rated 132, and Cirrus Des Aigles, Designs On Rome, & Variety Club at 130, though I would expect Cirrus Des Aigles to climb a little now being that he's beaten the 134 rated Treve and 132 rated Olympic Glory already this season.

  • ILuvTurfRacing · @Sullivan, Just A Way was impressive in Dubai, but he barely hung on to beat Grand Prix Boss in that race in Japan on Sunday and Grand Prix Boss is really no world beater. We'll find out for sure if Just A Way is really the best horse in the world if he shows at Longchamp for the Arc in October and has to face Treve(who will definitely come on next time out for her Prix Ganay run), and some of the other top European 3yo who'll have weight for age breaks that are cruising through the Epsom Derby & Epsom Oaks right now, I.E., Australia, Kingston Hill, Taghrooda, & Tarfasha. · 1024 days ago
how is she ranked the worlds best horse?

  • Northport · She hasn't run yet this year though. To be in the rankings they need to assign a figure to a race that was run in 2014 · 1082 days ago
  • EP Taylor · Just a way was an absolute MONSTER in the Duty Free. In Fact if that kind of form holds up, you might have you Arc winner. Treve will carry more weight in the ARC this year, so there is a possibility. What northport has said is correct · 1082 days ago
I am a late bloomer to Japanese racing. As an American I followed racing here, in Canada and in Europe but I am just starting to learn about Japan and Australian racing. Thanks to TVG I have been able to watch alot of races from these countries the last 2 years and wow I feel like I am just in time. The performances by this guy Just A Way and Gentildonna today as well as Orfevre the last 2 years has proven to me Japenese racing is the real deal and their impact will continue to be felt on the global stage. I look forward to seeing the future stars from this country
  • Northport · Agreed! I only have been following Japanese racing for about two years, but they are going through what seems like a golden age, with lots of nice horses like Orfevre, Gentildonna, Lord Kanaloa, etc. They've invested the most money into quality bloodstock, and it seems like it is working out · 1095 days ago
What A Way. I liked him to win, but I was not expecting anything like that. 1:45.96 over the 9 furlongs at Meydan is astonishing. Ran off and won my open lengths in a $5M race. Most impressive race I've seen in quite a while.

  • mkstorm · I thought the Duty Free was the most competitive race on today's WC card, but this horse made it look too easy. He destroyed the field. His gallop out suggests that he can go longer. Would love to see him try the Arc. · 1096 days ago
This monster toyed with the field Dank got a terrible ride out of the picture turning for home then got 3rd i could see smullen doing it earlier but i didnt think moore would do it too
  • tmallios1 · Someone please give Ryan Moore a key to unlock that horrible trap he placed Dank in throughout the race. My lord if you just wanted to excersize her Ryan, you could of stayed home. · 1096 days ago
