Be hard to find a fresher horse then Jersey Town. Been back and forth in numerous stables in his career, but as a later 4 yr. old he came back to Barclay Tagg's stable, and improved in his 10-30-10 & 11-27-10 races with his Beyer speed ratings. His 111 Beyer number in the grade one Cigar mile victory (with some pretty darn good horses in the race) is top notch. A 9 month freshener, and 3 races at 6f; 7f; & 8f, makes this horse one of the MOST logical overlays I've seen in both Breeders Cup cards. Barclay Taggs stable has been quiet the last 2 years. Any comments from the "Nation" about Tagg's operation lately? Jersey Town is entered in the BC dirt mile.

  • MichaelPavelick · I'm wondering if Jersey Town will just come right back and repeat a victory in the Cigar at the end of Nov.? He was looking eager in this race. It did cross my mind, when coming off a layoff that you usually want a horse going a route twice. Or you demand that Jersey Town has 2 one mile efforts before the BC mile. Either in a race(s) or a workout(s). He had only one effort at a mile. Now he has those 2 efforts for the Cigar. He's going in my virtual stable for the Cigar. · 203 days ago ·

  • likin sparks · Uncle Mo earned a preliminary Beyer of 118, not to bad considering it was done in a swamp. He also controlled the pace and when challenged by JB down the stretch shifted gears when needed but didn't achieve his beast mode, if he would have had to turn it on he would have won by 10 lengths or better. · 237 days ago ·

  • DeadHeat · JB actually does have the speed to try and push Mo along if Zito doesn't want him to get too easy of a lead. With no solid sprint leader, a good second here would not lose it for JB should a unpset take place in the Vosburgh. My main thing is how will some of these handle the mud if it pours in NY? Many top horses in each of the big races haven't ever run over mud. So it should make things very interesting. · 239 days ago ·
