What the Nation is saying about Ioya Bigtime...

Team Block’s Ioya Bigtime, winner of the 2012 Kentucky Cup Turf (GIII), finished a disappointing ninth in the Elkhorn (GII) as the favorite, but he will look to get back on track in Saturday’s $100,000-added Louisville Handicap (GIII). Read More

The dream of a little gelding named Twilight Eclipse came true this past Saturday with his WORLD RECORD setting performance in the grade II Pan American at Gulfstream Park but that dream didn’t start in the hollowed grounds of the top tracks in America. Read More

  • rafirox · That's what makes Secretariat's 2:24 and change Belmont time so impressive. 23:3, 46:3, 1:09:4..... Very fast and kept steamrolling to finish in 2:24 and change, a record that won't be broken for a long time. Second, I wouldn't make much of these records. The turf course at Santa Anita has been producing incredibly fast times. That is why the "records" were a week apart. Twilight Eclipse was the more impressive of the two, as he drew away without much effort, IMO. · 61 days ago ·

  • travel_vic · I am a Secretariat fan: I visited him twice in Kentucky BUT, in 1973 no less than 15 track records were set at Belmont, so the course was actually juiced and his brillance has that working for him as well. · 61 days ago ·

While Royal Delta’s 2013 debut promises to be an electrifying occasion Sunday, Mott enjoyed a pretty exciting day at Gulfstream on Saturday, saddling three impressive winners on the card, including Amira’s Prince, who captured the $150,000 Mac Diarmida (G2) by 3 ¾ lengths. Read More
Hall of Fame trainer Bill Mott appears likely to be sending out the favorites in both the $150,000 Mac Diarmida Stakes (G2) and $100,000 The Very One Stakes (G3) Saturday at Gulfstream Park, the companion events run at 1 3/8 miles on turf with the latter for fillies and mares. Read More
It's time to support the home team. As always, I had the the pleasure of frequenting the two racetracks closest to my home in Arlington Park and Hawthorne Race Course plenty this year. All hail the Illinois Breeding program! Give me turf or give me death! Bring on the Breeders’ Cup! • gelded1 · I agree that Boisterous needed a slow or yielding course to have a shot and I too dismissed him for that reason. They were about 2 secs slower at the 3/4 and mile than the Secretariat Stakes that ran earlier at 1 1/4 .Smart ride by Ramon . · 279 days ago ·
