  • medlocke · After an uncharacteristic slow start to the season for Informed Decision. With two 3rd place finishes as race favorite in both races she lost. I think today's Chicago Handicap at Arlington is going to be the race than get's Informed Decision into the win column in 2010. Informed Decision is just too talented to keep down for too long.   • medlocke · Who says the "old gray mare just ain't what she used to be?" Did Informed Decision get off to a slower start in 2010 than usual? Absolutely. But did she come back today with the class and determination that's pulled her through many races? Absolutely again!! I love Informed Decision. Even if she run's a bad race, she still manages to finish in the money. This mare is still high quality, and is a tough, tough beat. Especially over synthetic tracks. But she races conventional dirt well, too. I knew today would be her break out race for 2010. She races well at Arlington. · 63 days ago

  • medlocke · Informed Decision looked to me like a mare that had a little bit of lay-off rust in losing her first start of 2010 at Keenland in the Vinery Madison Stakes. Informed Decision had been undefeated over synthetic surfaces until her recent 3rd place finish. But she's one of those rare one's that can perform equally well over a conventional dirt surface as well. She won the 09' Human Distaff in the slop at Churchill Downs, if you'll remember. A lot of horses are slow starters after a lay-off. Gio Ponti springs to mind, losing his first start of 2010 at Tampa Bay Downs to Karelian. But came back in his second start to run an amazing Dubai World Cup, finishing 4th, but having to go extremely wide to get that. So it was a very quality run for him. I expect Informed Decision to bounce back with a win on Derby day. IMO. · 129 days ago

Short and sweet, and simply stated, Informed Decision is the second best mare in American racing today. Behind only the great and legendary Zenyatta. I love this mare. She has a ton of talent, and is always difficult to beat in any race that she's in. She really is blessed with great ability. I look forward to seeing her race as well in the 2010 racing season. This is a mare that rarely loses, and if she is beaten, almost certainly is never off of the board. JMO.
