great to see you back homie!
Indianapolis had a timed workout 6/12 at Santa Anita. He ran 3f Handily in 36.20. Glad to see him back!
Still haven't seen any wirks or updates on this horse. Guess he's off the Triple Crown trail. Must be something moore serious than just a cough as had been reported.
  • Sullivan · Perhaps, or he is just that much more special that Baffert doesn't want to risk ruining him · 143 days ago
i am so excited for this horse to return to the worktab.
  • RayS · Is he back, or still recovering from the cough. Would love to see him have a shot at the Derby, but his health is the number 1 priority. Hope he comes back soo and better than ever. · 156 days ago
  • kaitlinefree1 · i think he is still recovering. should be back soon. but i hope he is well & ready to go! · 156 days ago

  • jmac500 · May be in the Rebel. · 167 days ago
any word on where this horse is headed next? Can't wait to see him race again
  • AnneShaw · Same here jb. I never see any works or entries. Either he is not in perfect condition or they decided he is just too beautiful. Actually he really is but I'm still hoping to see him soon · 179 days ago
  • Geretina · From The Downey Profile: Indianapolis (20-1), who has run six furlongs in both his races, was declared out of the San Vicente with a cough on Feb. 12, and he hasn't put in a published workout since. Keep an eye on the worktab. Baffert will likely keep all options open. · 179 days ago
Will miss San Vicente on Sunday due to a cough via Baffert
It's silly to race this colt at 7 furlongs. He needs 2 turn experience. Let's get serious because this is a serious colt.
on February 5, Indianapolis worked 6F at Santa Anita on Fast Dirt in 1:11.40 h finishing 1//15.
  • rafirox · I like him. Probably one of the best if not THE best in California. He's a good one. Not even in my Top 10 for the Derby, though. That's how dominant the east coast babies look CURRENTLY. · 199 days ago
  • Sullivan · I need more than 2 starts to judge a horse. So far this horse hasn't faced any adversity. Until he does, I don't know how good he is. · 199 days ago
I have rarely seen a green 3 yr. old show as much professionalism as this colt did in his first two starts. He doesn't pull. He doesn't mind racing between horses. He has tactical speed, but also has the ability to come from off the pace. He also is stronger at the end of the race and runs "through" the wire not to the wire. If his two turn performance is what I think it will be. then that added to his outstanding pedigree. should make him a serious contender for the Derby. Of course he has to stay healthy. Baffert has also assigned "Superstar" status to this colt and he rarely does that.
I think hes going to lose tomorrow. Going with papa turf but Indianapolis is going to be amajor player in the derby trail

  • tmallios1 · Zip the difference is that Heart Ashley was bred by sprint sire Lion Heart. This guy is Medagia D'oro. Night and day difference. Like in his first race,it takes him a while to stretch out his legs.Yet he shows speed. Once he strides out,the party is over. · 214 days ago
Well, he won and did it handily in 1:08.8. :)
Finally comes out to play for his 3yo debut in Mondays San Pedro at Santa Anita. This is one of the many stars in Baffertd barn.Love the fact he is going into a Stake immediately, and bypassing an Allowance race. Speaks volumes of their opinion in this guy.
  • amino998 · There are no NX1 for 3yo colts going short in the condition book through Feb 2. Baffert pits Coolmore against Juddmonte >> BTW, happy HRN anniversary, but how can you not remember bigbill859? :D · 217 days ago
  • tmallios1 · Nathan, seriously doubt the Condition book was his deciding factor. With Baffs and also with Pletcher on the right coast. You either make the grade or you don't. They do not waste races. If Baffs wanted to,he could of easily found a spot for him. · 217 days ago
Jan 15th - Worked 6F in 1:12.60 (3/12) at Santa Anita on the dirt.
Great debut.
What a powerhouse performance in his debut.
