  • icyhotboo · Spectacular Bid would go 1:43.0 at 1 1/8 on that track. for that matter a 30k claimer will do 1:47.0. besides Hollywood in the 60s that's the fastest track ever.BTW now that "humphrey" is gone somebody has to push a button now and then. I actually like TC a lot could go far this year if he stays healthy · 836 days ago ·

Since retiring to stud in 1999 at a fee of $10,000, Indian Charlie   has made an inexorable rise to the upper reaches of the U.S. stallion population. • humphrey · I strongly get the impression that this one could NOT win on the deeper grass surfaces which make up the majority of turf courses throughout the country. When you are running on a putting green with no moisture of springiness to it, you are essentially (as the Brits call it) running on the top of the ground....Take this one to Woodbine Arlington or Saratoga and he would likely be a regular also ran. · 861 days ago ·

  • cugel the clever · It's hilarious to see how people, who should know better, jump on a horse's bandwagon and make unrealistic exptraplolations based on 1 race. Sidney's jockey said it best: “He’s a really good horse and he likes to run free and easy,”. Please note, GOOD horse, not "great" horse. Horses like Zenyatta and Goldikova have establised a career body of work which qualifies them as GREAT horses. They dazzle against weak competition and they step up their game to dazzle against strong competition. The problem with horses like Sidney's Candy and Quality Road is that they dazzle against weak competition and set track records; but when faced against truly formidable opponents, they fold up their tents and fade into the background. Sidney has consistently folded when faced with the best in the world (or even the USA). · 879 days ago ·
