What the Nation is saying about I Want Revenge...

Tested at top of the stretch by 4-5 favorite I Want Revenge, the front-running Redding Colliery battled back along the inside and went on to a two-length victory Saturday afternoon in the $75,000 Evening Attire at Aqueduct Racetrack.   Making only his second start in 14 months, the 6-year-old ...Read More

  • Mary Z. · If you saw his Three Coins Up, then you know he can still run. I don't know the details of the long gaps in his race and workout schedule this past year. Not many of the US horses did well at all in Dubai, so in hindsight that may have been a mistake, but I'm still a faithful fan. Just remember his Wood Memorial. I do wish the kid would be back on him. That was a great team. I would say that his sale to IEAH is the reason why he was able to make a comeback at all, otherwise he would have been retired on Derby Day, '09. During his several Lazarus moments, he has shown that he is still competitive at 1 mile, which is the distance I hope he runs, but I'll cheer for him at any distance. Maybe he's just going for that little bit to put him over 1 mil, or another grade 1 win? · 73 days ago ·

Rick Dutrow's been complaining that I Want Revenge didn't get an invite for this year's Dubai World Cup. LOL. He has absolutely no reason to complain, as the body of work that I Want Revenge has accomplished in 2010 is not anywhere near good enough to oust one of the other 14 horses who have been winning at Meydan, and in most cases, winning in their respective countries prior to going to Dubai. I Want Revenge hasn't won a race since the 2009 Wood Memorial. Franky, not only is he not good enough to be in the DWC, but I personally don't think he's good enough to win the Godolphin Mile either. Godolphin's, Skysurfers, will run him off of his feet on that tapeta surface. JMO.
  • bigbrown2332 · I think he fits in with the horses going into the Godolphin Mile. I didn't think he would run as good as he did in the Donn, and he ran great. He had a race, and has been working well. If Rick Dutrow wanted to point to the World Cup, he would only go if he thought he had a legit shot. He's been to Dubai before with Diamond Stripes, and they won. I want revenge has raced really well over the synthetics in California. I think he'll run good in Dubai. He ran super with some of the nations best in the Donn. · 318 days ago ·

  • medlocke · Tough draw for Godolphin's Skysurfers in the Godolphin Mile. He looked incredible when he beat Musir in the Firebreak Stakes and set a Meydan track record for a mile on tapeta in that race. I put him up as the most likely winner of this year's Godolphin Mile that day. But with this extremely wide P.P draw, it could certainly make thing's very difficult for Skysurfers. I'd have to say given his previous start at Meydan, and the good P.P. draw he has, keep a close eye on Conveyance in this race. JMO. · 319 days ago ·

I Want Revenge is going to Dubai after all. Unfortunately for trainer Rick Dutrow and an ownership group headed by the IEAH Stable, he won't be going into the race they'd hoped for. • medlocke · He'll be lucky to even make the frame in the Godolphin Mile, IMO. Skysurfers will be the horse to beat in that race, and there's others entered that run the tapeta extremely well also. It's a big ask by Dutrow for I Want Revenge in this race. · 330 days ago ·

How strong is the field for the $500,000 Donn Handicap (gr. I)? Included among the nine starters is a horse that enters off a win in a Breeders’ Cup race, another that bagged the Clark Handicap (gr. • tiznow · i really hope IWR does not go in the Donn...he needs an allowance race to get some foundation back. Throw him in a G1 off the long layoff again? Look what happened last year, he very clearly needed a race and you bring him back in a G2 at 1 1/8 and then bring him right back in a G2 after he very clearly showed how tired he got. IEAH imo doesn't put the best interest of the horse first. This horse has always worked lights out, doesn't mean jump right into a G1. · 368 days ago ·

I want Revenge worked 6 furlongs in 1:13 and 3/5 at Gulfstream Park. He probably won't make it to an allowance race if he's going to the Donn Handicap.

Not a fan of the owners, and they got way over ambitious with his first comeback...not sure if an allowance then jumping into the Donn is a smart move either.
