Held off a fast closing Finnegans Wake today to win the Bowling Green.
  • rafirox · Love Finnegan's Wake. I had him the G1 Secretariat in 2012. I saw him live at Arlington. He came 2nd or 3rd, I can't remember. Was rooting for him today. · 1186 days ago
Hyper, winner of the 10th running of the John's Call on Wednesday, likely will make his next appearance this fall at Belmont Park, said trainer Chad Brown. "The 1 5/8 miles was a question mark, but we thought we'd take a shot," said Brown of the 6-year-old son of Victory Gallop's victory. "More than likely, he'll go in a graded stakes, but I don't know where or when. He had a hard race at 1 5/8 miles, so he probably won't run back here this meet."
This guy is ready to run big in the Colonial Turf Cup today.
Hyper, entered in Saturday’s Grade III Fair Grounds Handicap, was not aboard the equine charter flight to New Orleans. “I’m going to scratch,” Hyper’s trainer Chad Brown informed Fair Grounds officials in a text message. “(Hyper) does not like soft turf.”
Hats off to the Ramsey's for sending over some of the turf horses in their yard to compete in some of the stakes races in the UK on turf this season. Big Blue Kitten in the G1 Prince of Wales's Stakes, and Hyper has now run in both the listed Wolferton Handicap at Ascot and the listed Steventon Stakes at Newbury. Hyper's 9th of 13 finish in the Wolferton Handicap is really a bit deceiving. because there was only about 3-1/2 to 4 lengths that separated the top 9 horses in that race. He ran pretty poorly at Newbury however in the Steventon Stakes. Finishing a well beaten last of 7. But in fairness to Hyper, it was on very soft, testing ground that day.
waiting for him to make his 2nd start looked promising in troubled debut
