Was Awesome's race, but would have been interesting to see her stride uninterrupted. These horses with such heart. And I am jealous of anyone who saw it LIVE!! · 10 days ago ·

A quick look at the Saturday overnight of the six stakes races worth $1.3 million to be run on the Florida Sunshine Millions program at Gulfstream Park would not easily identify the event as restricted to Florida-bred runners because more than a third - 17 of the 48 horses entered - , are ‘open’ Gr...Read More
  • terri.zeitz · It will be a wonderful weekend of horse racing. Breakfast at Gulfstream will feature John Velasquez and Kent Desormeaux from 7 to 10 am on Sat and include watching the horses train and a barn tour. On Sunday, the Holy Bull will feature Consortium, Hansen, and Algorithms. I can't wait until the Fountain of Youth when Discreet Dancer takes on Union Rags. It's a unbelieveable season at Gulfstream with so many top 4 year olds returning and top Derby contenders. · 14 days ago ·

Owner Mark Hoffman will be toying with the idea of trying Hooh Why in the $1 millions Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint, which will be run over seven furlongs at Churchill Downs on Nov. 5. “I’d like to take a shot at the Breeders’ Cup,” Hoffman said. Hooh Why is not Breeders’ Cup eligible and would have to be supplemented at a cost of $90,000, which is exactly the amount she collected for her Seaway Stakes success. “I told her ‘If you win this, girl, you pay your ticket into the Breeders’ Cup,’ ” Hoffman said.

  • medlocke · After an uncharacteristic slow start to the season for Informed Decision. With two 3rd place finishes as race favorite in both races she lost. I think today's Chicago Handicap at Arlington is going to be the race than get's Informed Decision into the win column in 2010. Informed Decision is just too talented to keep down for too long. I think today is the day the big gray mare strikes, and set's the Arlington track on fire. JMO. · 585 days ago ·

  • medlocke · Who says the "old gray mare just ain't what she used to be?" Did Informed Decision get off to a slower start in 2010 than usual? Absolutely. But did she come back today with the class and determination that's pulled her through many races? Absolutely again!! I love Informed Decision. Even if she run's a bad race, she still manages to finish in the money. This mare is still high quality, and is a tough, tough beat. Especially over synthetic tracks. But she races conventional dirt well, too. I knew today would be her break out race for 2010. She races well at Arlington. · 584 days ago ·
