What the Horse Racing Nation is saying about Headache ...

Now I know that the list of race tracks I had visited in my life consisted of two (Arlington and Canterbury) until very recently. I have to say though; I wish I would have discovered Hawthorne a lot sooner! And even to the last race of this fall meet, the track continued to put together great cards ...Read More

Ken and Sarah Ramsey had a nice day on Saturday capped by a fine Grade 2 score in the 75th running of the Grade 2, $500,000 Hawthorne Gold Cup.  The race, contested at 1 ¼ miles on a fast Hawthorne track initially appeared to be a matchup between Rule and Giant Oak, but wide trips compromised b...Read More

  • Winplacsho · Very evenly matched group. Giant Oak is also a sleeper for me in the Classic...not to win but to land in the bottom of the exotics at a huge price, very similar to Fly Down last year. I think his races at Saratoga are better than they appear, since no one could make up any significant ground in the stretch at Saratoga all year. · 233 days ago ·

  • MichaelPavelick · Ruffian75, Thanks, I actually uncovered that before your poast. Kind of surprise. Possibly any Baffert horse that comes "rollin into Iowa", gets a lot of respect or Baffert has a steady history of having horses ready for the Iowa derby. One victory in a maiden claimer, and another in an allowance race doesn't deserve those kind of morning line odds. His very respectable move against Comma to the Top, is hard to deny. But that was as a 2 year old & he lost by approx. 9 lengths. · 334 days ago ·
