  • goblin · Not too surprising since his entry in the Cigar Mile was described as "iffy" by Pletcher last week. · 1238 days ago
  • Northport · Had a lot of potential in a thin older horse crowd for 2014, but Unbridled's Song's don't seem to have a great shelf life · 1238 days ago
A quarter-crack has knocked Graydar out of the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile.

Graydar will run in the Mile, not quite ready for the Classic. GOOD.

Graydar should run in the Mile not the classic. Mile and a quarter is not his distance.

  • Ruffianlover · That could be it. Pletcher knows V has a good shot at HOTY if he wins the dirt like and goes on to the cigar mile so maybe he wanted to keep them apart. I just would rather see these two go at it and I don't think Graydar has a chance in the classic against the dude, fort larned, MMM, and flat out · 1262 days ago
  • rafirox · I agree with most of your points, Ruffian. Only thing; do you mean 3yo horse of the year, or overall (for lack of a better term) horse of the year??? If he does what you said, I could see him winning three year old HOY (depending on what happens in the Classic), but I can't see him winning the overall HOY. · 1262 days ago

  • artax123 · Any one with half a working brain cell would want another Unbridled's Song. The reason you doubters call his offspring unsound is that there are so many great ones who retire early because they were not given the time to mature into their bodies because they show such amazing talent at such an early age. With Graydar and Cross Traffic you are seeing what they can do when given time to mature. Graydar is not unsound he had a small flack in an ankle , which 75% of all race horse have something similar in one joint or the other. They just took it out as an excuse to give him a breather to get ready for the big fall campaign. What other stallion can have 3 legitimate nhorses in the classic if all goes well. ( Graydar, Cross Traffic and Will take Charge) · 1332 days ago
  • travel_vic · Just about ALL the Unbridled get are unsound: young or old · 1332 days ago

Graydar will ship back to Saratoga on July 13th to rejoin Todd Pletchers barn. Plans include a fall campaign that targets the Breeders Cup in November.
