This year has some great potential! I would also like to add Fly Lexis Fly to the Triple Crown group. He's already proven at 10 and 12 furlongs, but we'll see how he fares against the best the US has to offer

Well written, Ashley! Great job in the 2012 roundup and nice perspective on emerging rivalries in the various divisions. I'm excited about 2012 for many of the reasons you recited. I keep hoping that the 2011 year that was a muddle will dawn into a 2012 with some real stars rising to the fore! I share your enthusiasm for On Fire Baby and Now I Know. I do worry about Eight Belles' brother, Unbridled's Way...for obvious reasons.

@yukichan, last year I used to have access to a lot of free sites I used for boxing, soccer, and other sports. My PC crashed and my favorites along with it. I'll see if any of my friendshave those addresses as you need more than one most times because if you get to many using it will freeze. can't promise anything but even though I retired from poker playing I still used to like to kill time on line playing small stakes until OUR government decided we weren't mature enough to decide for orselves. Oh well gotta take what comes.

Chris, I felt the exact same way about MMM. I look forward to seeing him build on the foundation he established at Gulfstream. Wes, I completely overlooked Horse of the Meet. As I stated, there really was not a true standout, but if I had to choose, I would select Mucho Macho Man. Ron the Greek flattered his Sunshine Millions win with a score in the Big Cap, and MMM beat a couple of tough competitors in Jackson Bend and Tackleberry in the Gulf Cap. It sounds biased since we all know how much I like MMM, but it also makes sense if you look at it logically.

Summer Applause is still my top Oaks pick. The recent loss is easily forgivable; she might not even know she lost; yes I said that. I like her running style; comes from behind, but not a dead closer and versatile, can be closer up, and even won once wire to wire on the lead. She's had all very good races after her unimpressive maiden race at Woodbine, with imo, her 4th. and 6th. races two of the best, even though she did not win those. Already working out very well at Churchill.

@BrianZ - So do I, it's a tie between her and Grace Hall for me right now. I like Summer Applause as well and I think she'll appreciate the extra furlong in the Oaks, but I don't think the competition she's been facing is extremely high calibur with the exception of Believe You Can.

Grace Hall
Not sure why Grace Hall is not higher int the standings, yeah My Miss Aurelia beat her last year, but since then Grace Hall has trained and progressed and just ran 1 1/8 mile 3 seconds slower than the 1 1/16 time for the BC. My Miss Aurelia has been kind of absent, so her progress will be measured May 4th.
