Interesting account of his early days in the great book An Unbroken Line by Gzowski (great great grandson of the first director of the Ontario Jockey CLub). According to his sources, the stable lad who accompanied this one to France as a gift to the King was Agba, a stable hand who referred to him as SHAM.....Hardly anyting in racing happens for the first time these days
