  • Floridaf · That is very true, but Santiva has also run 2nd in the G1 Dixiana Breeders' Futurity in his previous start. This is definitely not an orthodox trainer, though. · 3 days ago ·

  • Winplacsho · Didn't think Battle Hardened would get bet down to 9/2 from 12/1 morning line, but he ran his eye balls out from a extreme outside post in his previous race at GP. The way he rated Saturday was very encouraging since he didn't pass a horse in the stretch of his first 2 route races. · 1 day ago ·

  • Winplacsho · Couldn't agree more, she was ultra professional. Most of Pletcher's debut winners are keyed-up front runners, but was really impressed with the way she rated and kicked home. Also, it was at a mile & you rarely see debut winners at a longer distance like that. · 48 days ago ·

why way he retired after 1 race???
  • shores · He wasn't. Giant's Causeway raced 13 times, mainly in Europe, won 9 times, and was second 4 times, resulting in earnings of over 2 million euros. His biggest wins included the St. James Palace S., the Juddmonte International, and the Irish Champions S., and he was a game 2nd to Tiznow in the 2000 BC Classic. · 70 days ago ·

Oh no, Giant's Causeway is high up on the list after 1 race in America, and so is Rock of Gibraltar, and Zarkava is way up there with no American races. If this list is going to include all the great horses on Planet Earth then why aren't Ribot, Brigadier Gerard, Nijinsky II, Allez France, Deep Impact, Sunline, Lohnro, etc., higher? Is this list for American horses or just any horse from anywhere?

  • humphrey · Lauren Stitch arguing one of the "theoreticals" went on and on about Smarty Jones all the while the INDIVIDUAL right there in front of her was making a shambles out of all her "theoreticals." Can she, or ANYONE for that matter, know what genes makeup speed, which multiple groups of genes make up stamina, heart, desire to win? NO ONE CAN since NO one knows what genetic material first accounts for the phenotype and then NO ONE knows what are in the gametes that created the individual running. Basing performance on anything other than the individual right in front of you is bad scientific processing. In any one breeding the chances of predicting the exact genetic components of the offspring (without even knowing what genes account for what physical characteristics) is a well played out con game that keeps a lot of these "theoreticals" in the business. The BRIDE couldn't beat a fat man down a hill, the four full siblings of Northern Dancer and Ribot were not runners but they had exactly the same parents.....It is guess work at its best. · 658 days ago ·
