From: The New York Daily News - article by Dan Lauletta: The injuries suffered by Ghost Gunner when he broke down in Saturday's Discovery Handicap proved too much to overcome and he was euthanized early Sunday. Ghost Gunner had won three straight races and set the pace in the Discovery, his first try against stakes company, but took a bad step while tiring on the turn and was pulled up by John Velazquez.
