Concealed Identity, who ran a sharp second to Pants On Fire in the Grade 3 Pegasus Stakes in his Monmouth debut, will have one more breeze at Bowie next week and ship to Monmouth early on the morning of Sunday, July 31, to run in the $1 million Resorts Haskell Invitational (G1).   Linda Gaudet,...Read More

Get Serious, who has won 10 of 14 starts on the Monmouth turf course, returns to optimal conditions when he heads a field of eight in Saturday’s $75,000 Battlefield Stakes at one mile on the turf.   In his two starts this year, the 7-year-old ran ninth in the off-the-turf Elkwood in May, and th...Read More
Jules Boutelle’s Teaks North sat the perfect trip in last Sunday’s Grade 3 Monmouth Stakes on the turf, launched his bid in deep stretch, and was up in time for a nearly-length score over Sleepless Knight.   That win should set him up perfectly for his major summer goal – the $750,000 United Na...Read More
Julia C. Boutelle’s Teaks North sat off the early speed of Get Serious and Get Stormy before unleashing a furious stretch rally, posting a three-quarter length win in the $250,000 Monmouth Stakes at Monmouth Park on Sunday before a crowd of 14,836.   Teaks North, now a perfect three-for-three o...Read More
Get Serious tries for a repeat victory in the $250,000 Monmouth Stakes (G3) on the grass here Sunday, but faces some challenges this year that weren’t there in 2010.   For one thing, the 7-year-old son of City Zip comes into the mile and an eighth Monmouth off one of the poorest performances of...Read More
Get Serious, who finished last as the 17-10 favorite in last Saturday’s Elkwood Stakes, is still on course to run in the $250,000 Monmouth Stakes (G3) at a mile and an eighth on the grass here on June 12.   The 7-year-old son of City Zip did not seem to appreciate the fast dirt strip he encount...Read More

European invader Chinchon made a dramatic swooping move around the far turn and then rolled right on by his rivals in the stretch to capture the $750,000 Betfair TVG United Nations Stakes (G1) at Monmouth Park on Saturday. • medlocke · I had seen the race replays of Chinchon's last 2 races in France. Where he won the Prix Exbury and ran 4th in the Grand Prix De Chantilly. In both races, he closed very strongly from the rear of the field. Knowing that the racetracks in France are usually slower, soft turf. I remembered thinking if this colt ever got a chance to race outside of France on firmer, faster turf that he'd be a handful. When I saw him on the United Nations card today, I played him immediately. Which made my day, because I'd been on a bit of a losing streak of late. LOL. I knew Momouth's turf is notoriously fast anyway. I played Chinchon a straight $20 to win, and it returned $96. Not a wheelbarrow load by any means. But just a good feeling to have handicapped one right again, and won some money instead of donating. At-a-boy Go Go Gomez!! · 693 days ago ·
