After winning the Grade 1 Beldame on "Super Saturday" with his star 4-year-old filly Havre de Grace, trainer Larry Jones stuck around in New York to take care of one more piece of business. With a wide move from off a fast pace, Jones' Believe You Can wore down Perennial Song in the stretch and drew...Read More
After showing tremendous promise winning the Grade 3 Schuylerville on July 22 at Saratoga Race Course, Georgie's Angel found the Grade 1 Spinaway a bit too tough in her subsequent start as she finished fourth. • ajump08 · Only fact I'm scared of is that of Mo's three 2yo races, the Champagne was by far the least impressive. I think he's better than ever, and ten times the best horse in this field. Even if Belmont isn't his favorite track, he should beat these with authority. He is that good. Remember what he did in the King's Bishop was off a long layoff, horses improve second out the majority of the time. · 632 days ago ·

I absolutely LOVE this filly. Does anyone know where she might be headed next??
After breaking her maiden, first time out by 6 1/4 lengths at Churchill Downs and an impressive 1 1/2 length victory in the Schuylerville, she got pressed hard in early speedy fractions and stuck on the rail with nowhere to go in the Spinaway, finishing fourth. This is a very nice Bellamy Road filly. Look out for her next time out!!!
Trainer Tony Dutrow already had a nice horse for the Grade 1 Spinaway in Schuylerville runner-up True Feelings, but in the days leading up to entries for Sunday he mulled adding his maiden winner Grace Hall into the mix. With recent longshot third-place finishes in the Alabama and Travers, Dutrow ha...Read More

  • BrianZipse · Looks like a pretty wide open field, you picked out the two to beat in here, but who knows how good And Why Not is? Have fun, Brian ... say hi ti Kelly for me! · 654 days ago ·

  • BrianAppleton · Georgie's Angel has a slight class edge I think and I'm rooting for her to win, but as you say, it's a pretty even field. Juvenile races can be the toughest to handicap I think, they improve so quickly sometimes. · 654 days ago ·

Had a great work this morning on main track at Saratoga going 5f in 1:01.72. She is doing everything right and everything asked of her.
Goergie's Angel has a good chance of winning the Spinaway. Stopshoppingmaria looks good also!

I'm very excited to see how she does in the Spinaway! Georgie's Angel was very impressive in her first two starts! How great is it that a horse as young as she is and is just beginning her career can rate?! I think we can expect big things from this talented filly! :)
Georgie's Angel was named in honor of George Steinbrenner who owned her daddy Bellamy Road. She made her debut, breaking her maiden at Churchill Downs on July 4. July 4 is George's birthday. George was very passionate about the sport and such a great human being! She will run with his memory close to her heart everytime she hits the track. This is despite the fact that her majority owner, Ronnie Sheffer is HUGE Red Sox fan. He admired George for the great man he was!
Can't wait to see her in the Spinaway! After seeing her run in person, I think she will be tough to beat.
