What the Nation is saying about George Vancouver ...

It appears the ground at Newmarket is gonna be good/good to firm on Saturday for the English 2000 Guineas, and based on his win in the BC Juvenile Turf that should suite George Vancouver right down to the ground. There's no question that Dawn Approach & Toronado look like the two to beat on paper, but if the ground does indeed come up fast on Saturday I think George Vancouver's got a very legit chance of getting at least a piece of the race.
  • fastnfurious · I think you're spot on there ILTR. George Vancouver's only had fast ground 2 times so far and both times he ran excellent races. Beaten only 3/4 lengths by the unbeaten Reckless Abandon in the Prix Morny in Frrance the first time and an impressive winner of the BC Juvenile Turf the second time. I don't get Joseph O'Brien choosing Cristoforo Colombo over George Vancouver at all? · 16 days ago ·

I hope he comes over and starts a campaign, but probably won't.

  • ILuvTurfRacing · 2nd in the G1 Prix Morny behind the unbeaten Reckless Abandon. 3rd in the G1 Dewhurst Stakes behind the unbeaten Dawn Approach on ground not even to his liking, and now he's come to America and won the G1 BC Juvenile Turf on ground that was to his liking. Not likely you're gonna see Aidan O'Brien switch this colt over to conventional dirt, IMO. At best you might see him do what he did with Wrote after he won the Juvenile Turf last season and send him to Dubai to run on tapeta in the UAE Derby? But I think that's even doubtful, IMO. · 196 days ago ·
