  • head_heart_hooves · Mary Z: All I am saying is that, to me, he looks better-bred to get the distance. Yes, he is by Tapit, but he is from tail female family 1-c, as was Grindstone. He has a point in the “solid” category of his dosage as well (for whatever that is worth...). Verrazano is from TFF 13-d, which has never produced a Derby winnder. Much more importantly, NI really looked to me like he would have run past Verrazano given an extra furlong. He closed into a very slow pace. He didn't appear to have much trouble, just not much of a pace setup. Personally I prefer at least 2 other horses to these... · 45 days ago ·

The 2013 Wood Memorial sets up as a battle between Vyjack and Verrazano. That makes the race a clash of “V” versus “V” and thus it is very easy to think of the historic slogan of "V for Victory".Read More

Hi Gem how is it going?
I didn't know he retired. What is happening here? It must be the Northern Dancer...
A couple photos of Gemologist at Winstar farm. www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151127977518922&set=pb.261791448921.-2207520000.1350855354&type=1&theater
Recently read the news of "Gem", I will miss his racing days, but look forward to his offspring get the chance to win like his Dad now. He was the best looking 3yr old male to me and is and was a sure champ, won every race and beat every horse in each race that he entered and was not sick or injured in including Grade 1 and 2, will always remember the joy and how I switched gears on my top 2yr old choice when you won Jockey club at CD in as fast a time as the Breeders Cup and you took it to my top selection in the stretch, I knew and hoped after that you were a true champ! Wish him the best and as I have said before, until he runs again and now if he runs again, which I hope he can and will do, until he runs and loses without being sick or injured I believe he is capable and will/would any race he runs in, other than his two loses, which he was injured and not well, he is undeated and grade-1 and II winner, beat Alpha for fun in the stretch, please get well my special boy
Another work for "Gem"tis AM, what do you think? Hope he runs soon, he is too good, beat Alpha for fun

  • DonPassidomo · Quite easily, he is grade 1 -2 winner, never lost in any race he hasn't been injured in, so until he runs a race healthy and loses, he is not my top choice · 273 days ago ·
