There've been a lot of strong performances this extended weekend by stakes horses, but for me personally the most satisfying win to watch today was Garen breaking his maiden. Invasor's kid half-brother by Street Cry scored an easy daylight win in his first start around two turns (3rd overall) and won wire to wire, and in a nice time too. This guy could be very interesting to follow down the road!
It's an old cliche that the trainer knows his/her own horses better than anyone else, and knows how and where to spot them better than anyone else. It makes sense, which is why I'm very interested to see this 3 year old Street Cry half-brother to Invasor turn up in a 5.5-furlong maiden race...
