Older Comments about Flintshire...

I just finally got to see the replay of the G1 Grand Prix De Paris from Longchamp on Saturday and I'll tell you what really impresses me about Flintshire is the way he cuts loose with the speed of a 6f sprinter in the final 200 meters of a 2400 meter race. He did it last time out to win the G3 Prix Du Lys going away easily, and he did again to win the G1 Grand Prix De Paris easily. IMO, over the 2400 meter distance of the Arc this horse would beat Intello.

  • Northport · just rewatched the race (i posted an extended version on HRN) and Battle of Marengo looked terrible throughout. He kept running up onto the heels of poor Max Dynamite and continued to run into him in the early part of the race. I am not entirely sure why as it's not like O'Brien was being forced into that position, but BOM looked pretty rattled after that · 656 days ago
  • Euro Trash · O'Brien blamed the hood, stating it made Battle of Marengo too keen. I still believe that he is a 1m2f horse and would be better suited to those races instead of 1m4f. · 656 days ago
Juddmonte Farms Flintshire announces himself as a very legitimate contender for the Arc De Triomphe in October with a win in the G1 Grand Prix De Paris after winning the G3 Prix Du Lys a month ago. The Aga Khan's Manndawi finished 2nd with Ocovango in 3rd. Coomore's Battle of Marengo ran a very disappointing 7th of 8.

  • paul.nathan.946 · there is a reason hes on ocovango though its because he has so many ahead of him in the pecking order and that's not putting the horse down because the 3 above him are all special horses i see it as ocovango is a decent type but fabre has much better hence giving the young lad a chance · 658 days ago
  • Euro Trash · I thought of that also, Paul, but there comes a time when you realize the horse should have a chance at a clear run, and perhaps a more experienced jockey could show the horse to it's true potential · 658 days ago
Wins the Grand prix de paris and very impressively i hear, now trading fav for the arc in some places.
