R.I.P. Word is he suffered a heart attack while pulling up after his workout on Sunday November 4 at Belmont. I haven't seen anything about this to confirm, has anyone heard if this is true or not?

Kiaran McLaughlin, trainer of Alpha (No. 6, 5-2 odds): “I’m very happy with the draw. I’m not happy with the loading process. I was hoping No. 6 would be the last one in, but No. 11 is the last one in. With the double load, it’s 1 and 5, 2 and 6, but it’s great to be in the middle of the field.” “I’...Read More
  • southern.humor · It's Alpha/Nonios's Race to loose. I don't see any of the others throwing a real fight. Now that all the A classes horses are gone, I guess it's time for the B class horses to shine. What a shame. · 273 days ago ·

Five Sixteen has had a pretty good year.
Street Life punched his ticket for the Grade 1 Travers at Saratoga Race Course on Friday afternoon as he swept widest of all on the turn and on to a 1 ¾-length victory over Five Sixteen in the $100,000 Curlin for 3-year-olds. Read More
I think that Five Sixteen is going to win the Curlin. He's been pretty impressive this year after a disappointing 2011.
Five Sixteen is going to be a late bloomer.
Eight 3-year-old colts and geldings hoping to step up in the division will assemble at Saratoga Race Course for the $100,000 Curlin on Friday, the first of two “Party at the Spa” afternoons at the track. First race post time is 2:30 p.m., with the Curlin scheduled to go off at 6:22 p.m. Read More
Can't wait to see him as a four year old. I can just tell he is a late bloomer and that he will get better. Love the sire. Maybe another future stamina influence at stud?
Not having the worst 3YO campaign!
Not bad, would love to see this horse develop into the fall races

  • joeslamr · I'm sure that the win would leave an empty taste in their mouths, not to be able to defeat on the track the horse they were closing in on. Personally Dullahan was my pick @ the Derby and He was going to be my pick to win the Belmont anyway! · 348 days ago ·

Good luck
My heart breaks for I'll Have Another and his connections, especially Mario. Now that we can't have a Triple Crown (still can't believe I am saying that), let's all cheer Rosie and Five Sixteen home tomorrow. If racing can't have a TC winner, it can at least have a wonderful story with a woman winning the Belmont. If there is any happiness in racing today for me, it is that IHA is OK, happy, and healthy, and now I can cheer for Rosie 100%. :)
Even though the Belmont Stakes has lost its brightest star, the race is still a Grade 1 competition and none of the remaining entrants would turn down a chance to win.Read More
  • Sysonby · Street Life and Paynter definitely have the breeding, but Dullahan appears to be in peak form. A lot of this is going to come down to how the race sets up. · 348 days ago ·
