Pointed towards the G1 Test at Saratoga.
  • Sullivan · Good spot for her · 739 days ago
  • Exterminator · I like it too. 6f could be even better for her than 7f. I would like to see her get another shot going a mile. · 739 days ago
She was put directly on the lead in the Acorn even though she prefers to stalk. Fifty was the ONLY frontrunner to finish in the super. We will hear much more from her.
  • Sullivan · I am not sure that she wants to go very far. Her best performances have been at the tricky distance of 7f. I wouldn't be surprised to see her run in the G3 Princess Rooney, which should be coming up soon, though it is hard to know how soon with this hissyfit Stronach is throwing · 745 days ago
My pick to win the Acorn (duh)
on May 16, Fiftyshadesofgold worked 4F at Churchill Downs on Good Dirt in :50.40 b finishing 27/37.
I really hope Smith stays on her. He really fits her, and seems to like this filly. It'd be cool if she made it to the BC in the F&M Sprint.
Ha! I win.

  • Exterminator · This filly could potentially be the best TX-bred since Assault. On a different note, if a state-bred can win today, a certain other state-bred can win tomorrow! · 791 days ago

Wins Eight Belles !!

  • Mike in SB · Cool to see Alysheba's silks in the winners circle at Churchill Downs. · 791 days ago
  • Exterminator · If only Dorothy and Clarence could've been there to see it... He died just days after Fifty's triumphant comeback. · 791 days ago
A little less speed in the Kentucky Oaks after the defection of Fiftyshadesofgold, per Churchill Downs PR.
Out of the Oaks. Going to the Eight Belles instead.

  • ekindy · I was hoping for at least the Black Eyed Susan. · 795 days ago
  • Exterminator · This filly has a TON of talent. WHo knows, she could turn out to be a great sprinter, or maybe go a route. The FG Oaks was her first time going longer than 7f, and she ran second to the Oaks favorite. What I would really love to see is this filly running in the Alysheba next year, for sentimental reasons alone. · 795 days ago
on April 25, Fiftyshadesofgold worked 4F at Churchill Downs on Fast Dirt in :48.40 b finishing 3/24.
She breezed 5f in 1:00 1/5 (3/13) at Churchill on 4/18.
on April 11, Fiftyshadesofgold worked 4F at Churchill Downs on Fast Dirt in :48.80 b finishing 2/7.
  • Exterminator · I think she'll love running at Churchill again, last time she was there she won the Debutante by 8 while on the lead through a :21 1/5 first quarter. Even if she doesn't want 9f she could be a great sprinter. · 812 days ago
She has 40 points now... Is she going to the Oaks?
She's my no. 1 Oaks pick. Fiftyshadesofgold has won 3 out of 4 starts with extreme ease, ran third once after a bumper car trip and came back with a broken leg. She's never truly been tested, and I love her connections.
