Older Comments about Farhh...

Farhh will stand at Darley Dalham Hall in 2014 for a fee of £17,500. Dubawi will stand for £100,000, Exceed and Excel (£30,000) etc.
How about that effort from Farhh to hold off Cirrus Des Aigles & Ruler of the World to win the G1 Champion Stakes!! He had one race in 13+ months coming into the race which was his win in the G1 Lockinge Stakes at a mile. I knew he'd handle the ground as I've never seen a "Pivotal" yet that didn't like to be able to dig his toe into the ground.

  • ILuvTurfRacing · @Northport, Farhh is a 5yo not a 6yo, but I agree with you said about it making sense to retire him given the soundness issues he's had throughout his career. Plus, Saeed Bin Suroor has always said Farhh was a difficult horse to train. But like yourself, I don't get Sheikh Mohammed wanting to retire Dawn Approach as a 3yo at all unless he came out of the QE II with some sort of injury I haven't heard about? They should've definitely brought him back to race again next season as a 4yo, IMO. · 1189 days ago
  • Northport · I said he is pushing 6, ie. he will soon be six. Dawn Approach's imminent retirement was announced a week or so ago, so I doubt it was related to an injury sustained in the QEII · 1189 days ago
This is sure the kind of story you hate reading about first thing in the mornng, but the lead story on the front of this morning's Racing Post web-site is that Farhh is now out of running in the Queen Anne or Prince of Wales's Stakes at the royal meeting. Appartently Farhh has come up with laimness, and Godolphin's racing manager, Simon Crisford, is said he'll definitely miss the royal meeting and at present they're not sure when he'll race again. First Cityscape and now Farhh out of the Queen Anne Stakes. That opens up a huge door for Animal Kingdom to walk through now in that race.

  • yukichan · I read some place Team Valor has 25%, Darley has 29% and rest is Arrowfield... http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/articles/77305/darley-acquires-interest-in-animal-kingdom and here talks about TV's 25%: http://www.teamvalor.com/famous/animalkingdom.htm · 1322 days ago
  • goblin · Thanks, yukichan, that's pretty much the way I guessed it might be divided. · 1322 days ago
I think if Farhh goes to the Queen Anne Stakes; he will beat Animal Kingdom. Of course, I love Animal Kingdom and I'll root for him. However, one must face the music and realize: Very few North American racehorses can travel to Ascot and perform with the turf class. Farhh placed in 4 Group 1 races, two of which came to the mighty Frankel, and with Frankel amiss he finally won in the Lockinge, a race in which was heavily dominated by Frankel historically. Farhh has faced horses such as Frankel, Carlton House, So You Think, Nathaniel, Twice Over and St. Nicholas Abbey. That's quite a cast. Also, to mention, Farhh is a proven racehorse going 8f, while Animal Kingdom has always seemed more like a 10f to me. One must face the facts, we, America, have sent much better horses than Animal Kingdom in which COULD NOT win at Ascot. Just my two cents, y'all know how much I like me some Kingdom.. I would prefer the 1 1/4 Prince of Wales Stakes for Animal Kingdom.. If Farhh is entered in the POW, I think Animl Kingdom would have a very legit shot in the Queen Anne. Thoughts?

After 4 straight 2nd place finishes last season in the G1 Coral-Eclipse, G1 Sussex Stakes, G1 Juddmonte International Stakes, & G1 Prix Du Moulin, plus a 3rd in the G1 Prince of Wales's Stakes, Farhh finally gets his neck across the wire first and scores his first career G1 win in the Lockinge Stakes at Newbury.
The current situation with Farhh is perfect example of what I've been saying when I commented that Godolphin's operation in the UK is seriously in need of some major overhauling and house cleaning. First, their racing manager in the UK, Simon Crisford, makes very public, sem-negative comments about long time stable jockey, Frankie Dettori, which has all but run off a guy who's still one of the best big $$ riders in the sport, IMO. Now the stable has today decided that they want drop back in trip to 8f and take on Frankel in the upcoming G1 Sussex Stakes at Goodwood. Why would take a lightly raced, very promising 4yr.old and throw him into a race against a horse in Frankel who's likely to murder him by 5+ lengths, and thus destroy his confidence? If not for 2 proven, top level G1 stakes winners in So You Think in the G1 Prince of Wales's Stakes and Nathaniel in the G1 Coral-Eclipse, Farhh may very well have brought home back to back G1 wins over 10f for the stable. Some very poor decision making going over at Godolphin these days, IMO. Clearly, it's time for Sheikh Mohammed to take a long, hard look at the personal he's got involved with his Godolphin operation in the UK. But TJMO.
