First, Belmont Day 2010 he knocks me from a killer tri/super in the Manhattan. Today, at 32/1 odds he kicks me out of both a Pick3 and Pick4. I might include him next time, he'll probably run dully then.

  • cugel the clever · It's a no-brainer decision. It must be the BC Turf. Would be an idiotic decision to run him on a surface over which he has never raced in the BC Classic against possibly three super-horses; Zenny, Rachel, and QR. 12 furlongs may be a stretch for him but he's proven himself against the best on turf. That's where his best chance lies. Better to stand a strong chance of winning the Turf than a certain out of the money finish in the Classic. · 1048 days ago ·

  • arazi · This is a really good point. People forget, but Mandella is right. Very few horses come back from Dubai and are competitive in May and June. There have been plenty of flops over the years. I wouldn't toss Gio, but I would definitely spread in the Pick 4 around him. · 1085 days ago ·
