As Keeneland concludes its fifth fall meet with Polytrack as the main racing surface, the general consensus is that horses with established synthetic form tend to have an edge, although grass horses also fare well on Poly. Descending from one of Canada's leading female families, Exhi hit his stride just a bit too late for likely Kentucky Derby eligibility – but he's a good bet for other big races in 2010.Read More
The Lexington was not supposed to produce a Kentucky Derby starter nor did it look like it contained any serious 3YOs and that was confirmed with Exhi’s wire-to-wire win on the Polytrack at Keeneland.  There were no other prep races run last weekend and we’re down now to just days rather than w...Read More

  • myownbusiness · Will I bet him in the Derby? No. But, he did run second to Eskendereya twice, and he is going to be, quite possibly, the shortest price favorite since the 20 betting interest field began. IMO, that makes him very deserving of inclusion in the field. · 660 days ago ·

Because no one else will tell you, not a single Wood Memorial alumnus has finished in the money in the Kentucky Derby since Funny Cide and Empire Maker in 2003. • cstphns20 · Four Triple Crown winners came from winning the Wood Memorial and that does not include Secretariat who finished third in the Wood. So what's the point? On May 1st the horse who runs the best race will win the Kentucky Derby. That's the way it has always been!! Just pick a horse you like, stay on his band wagon, bet on him to win and if he doesn't, try it again next year! · 660 days ago ·
