Older Comments about Excelebration...

Excelebration's first foal was born Thursday evening.
No horse has won the Woodbine Mile and the Breeders Cup in the same year. Betting this horse all the way
Excelebration has my money in the BC Turf Mile. He knows how to kick horse butt.
Sounds like BC will be Excelebration's and Fame and Glory's swan song...http://www.racingpost.com/news/horse-racing/a-p-obrien-fame-and-glory-to-have-visor-for-breeders-cup-bid/1139721/latest/#newsArchiveTabs=last7DaysNews
  • ILuvTurfRacing · @yukichan, They said a few days ago that the BC Marathon would be Fame and Glory's final race, win, lose, or draw. But the last I had read about what they were saying about Excelebration was that if runs well in the BC Mile they might consider sending him to Dubai in March to run in the G1 Dubai Duty Free over 9f. I think it was on Sportinglife.com where I read that like on Thursday. · 1614 days ago
  • yukichan · That would be good news indeed! Roger Charlton reports "Dundonnell has arrived in Santa Anita for BC, travelled well (23hrs) only delay due to de-icing the plane at Stanstead and customs in LA." Any word on the other Euros' travel plans? · 1614 days ago
WOW! He wins in dominating fashion over a game Cityscape. Now how good does THAT make Frankel??
Absolutely bury's Cityscape, Elusive Kate, Carlton House, and Side Glance in the G1 QE II Stakes. Can't wait to see this horse and Wise Dan go at each other in the BC Mile!!
I'm praying that he will come over for the BC Turf Mile. With Wise Dan in the field, he might get odds like 6-1 or something! He has only loss to frankel besides his maiden. He only loses to the best horse in the world. With all the talent in the Mile, he might get GREAT odds!
Not big on the American Turf horses, but that Wise Dan was pretty damn good looking in the Woodbine Mile. Could give Excelebration a good run in the BC Mile....buit still be 7-8 lengths off Frankel :)
Not sure about Excelebration, Can't wait to see Imperial Monarch at Woodbine!!.
Not only did Ballydoyle pull Excelebration out of the Prix du Moulin at Longchamp on Sunday, they pulled all their horses out of France who were going to race: Power, Reply, Was, Treasure Beach, Robin Hood, Imperial Monarch... If anyone can add why?
  • ILuvTurfRacing · The only thing I know for sure is that they're likely going to send Imperial Monarch to Woodbine for the G1 Canadian International Stakes next month. But that wouldn't really explain why they pulled him out of the Prix Niel, or why the rest of the Coolmore horses were taken out of France? · 1658 days ago
  • travel_vic · Simple handicappig of the big turf contests: Bet all the Irish breds. Over the past few seasons they have dominated these races. A flat bet on all 6 of them last year would have profited aroud $50.00 · 1658 days ago
I've heard rumors for several weeks now that Excelebration may compete in the Breeders Cup Mile, but nothing definitive...Is there any official word from the horse's connections?
When Excelebration won the G1 Prix Du Moulin last season at Longchamp, his first G1 win, there were several writers who were quick to question how deep that Moulin field really was? But you certainly can't question how deep the field Excelebration just recently beat at Deauville in the G1 Prix Jacques Le Marois was. That race was loaded with multiple G1 winners, both male and female. I give Excelebration a ton of respect for being the one horse who's never shied away from a scrap with Frankel. But I think it's got to have been good for his confidence to have finally won at G1 level again in a race somewhere that Frankel wasn't. JMO.
It's amazing how much more impressive Excelebration looks winning against a field loaded with multiple G1 winners, both male and female, in the G1 Prix Jacques Le Marois at Deauville on Sunday. Not that Excelebration's ever really looked that bad considering he's pretty much been the lone flag bearer in the turf mile division that's gone out over and over hoping to catch Frankel asleep at the wheel. But he really does look so much more impressive when he's not having to chase Frankel's shadow from about 6 or 7 length's behind him. Really gritty effort by Excelebration in the Jacques Le Marois to dig in and run down Cityscape and Elusive Kate late in the race when it looked like he might be beaten. Well done to team Ballydoyle!!
WINS!!! Stepping out of Frankel's shadow this arguably second best miler in the world wins the Gr1 Prix Jacques le Marois over Cityscape. Moonlight Cloud (4th) and Caspar Netscher (5th)

I can watch most any major race in the world LIVE except those in FRANCE--anyone know where to pick up a live feed at DEAUVILLE? Otherwise, reading live on twitter....
He is such a good horse but he just gets beat by a great horse but when he doesnt run against Frankel he is a real horse to consider to win
this horse would be really good if Frankel didn't beat him all the time
I heard through some sources that I have through the international grapevine that Coolmore has either already bought, or is in very serious negotiation's to by Excelebration. With all the middle distance talent that the stable has in Ireland, I think they're looking for a horse that has the potential to become a star miler for them, and Excelebration certainly fit's that bill. This colt was dominate in his recent win in the G2 Hungerford Stakes at Newbury, and he also won the German 2000 Guineas in romp earlier in the year. Excelebration also has 2 very respectable run's behind Frankel this year in the Greenham Stakes and the St Jame's Palace Stakes. With Rip Van Winkle and Mastercraftsman both being retired over the past couple of seasons, I think it's left Ballydoyle a little short handed for horses capable of going out and winning at G1 level over a mile. I think Excelebration will be a great acquisition for the stable, and I wouldn't at all be surprised to see Coolmore have him as their representative to run against Goldikova in the Breeders Cup Mile this year at Churchill Downs!!
