  • likin sparks · Sometimes the experience at the bull ring can do wonders. For example Second City was claimed from Charles Town at the end of last month in which he raced there twice and Penn Nat once. He had never ran over 7F yet his new connections from B.C. decided to enter him in the Brittish Columbia Derby and he won at 1 1/8th. I should have put that one in the "Plays of the Day". · 586 days ago ·

  • travel_vic · Also, very important, bull rings allow distance limited horses to easily stretch out since there are NO long straightaways: you get position and can maintain it easier. Years agoa a pure sprinter, Rambling Native with a doage index over 20, won at 8.5 easily (for the same owners who, this past week, won the Jack Diamond Futurity Mr and Mrs. Fellicella) just missed in his BC Derby while on the lead the whole way. Back then however, it was a handicap, and he had to tote top weight that entire trip and just fell short the last two jumps. · 585 days ago ·
