What the Horse Racing Nation is saying about Enriched...

For the second time in 2010, Victor’s Cry sprung an upset in a significant turf race at Hollywood Park. Some six months removed from his 21-1 surprise in the Shoemaker Mile, the 5-year-old son of Street Cry struck again Saturday, rallying strongly at 11-1 to win the $250,000 Citation Handicap. Mean...Read More

Soul Candy made a successful surface transition to win the day’s richest event, helping Rafael Bejarano join Victor Espinoza and Joe Talamo as the riding stars of the 21st California Cup Saturday at Oak Tree/Hollywod Park. Making his first appearance on something other than turf in his 10th career ...Read More
Enriched will try to do something Saturday at Oak Tree/Hollywood Park his half-brother Lava Man was unable to accomplish. Specifically, win the $150,000 California Cup Classic Presented by City National Bank. The Classic, which will be run at 1 1/8 miles over Cushion Track, is the richest of seven ...Read More
Saturday’s Cal Cup Day pick six from Oak Tree at Hollywood Park includes five Stakes races. The feature is the Cal Cup Classic for 3-year-olds and up traveling nine furlongs on Cushion Track. Enriched is the solid favorite exiting three straight Graded tries. Partly cloudy skies are expected with a ...Read More
Gio Ponti has been caught nearing the wire three times during a tough-luck campaign in 2010. The dual champion finally had enough of that, this time doing a little catching of his own. Cutting back to one mile for the first time all year, Gio Ponti niftily split horses in deep stretch under Ramon Do...Read More

  • mdracing69 · Gio Ponti ran a nice race but was not the most impressive turf mile winner at Keeneland on Saturday. Proviso ran a bit faster and finished strong in her G1 First Lady triumph. She beat Grade 1 males at Santa Anita earlier this year. As for Gio Ponti, I agree that ten furlongs is his best distance and I would try the BC Classic. All it takes is a bad draw and his Mile hopes would be dashed. · 1292 days ago ·
  • cugel the clever · Tough spot for this horse, but I think he has a better shot at the BC Mile. Turf is his best surface and he's probably the #3 ranked tuf miler right now, behind Goldikova and Proviso. So, with racing luck, he stands a chance in the BC Mile. But, for the BC Classic, he's definately an outsider. He couldn't beat Z last year in the Classic on polytrack; so what chance does he have on dirt against Z and a much stronger field of males than last year's Classic. All of Z, QR, Blame, LAL, and Haynesfield ave better shots in the Classic that Gio Ponti. · 1291 days ago ·
Time to bring on the milers! The First Lady kicks off the three grade one miles we will be treated to on Saturday, and I've got to say this is a dynamite field. Trying to pick a winner was not easy at all, and who can expect it to be when you have Proviso and Wasted Tears facing off!Wasted Tears is ...Read More
Enriched, half-brother to 2006 Pacific Classic winner Lava Man,  earned his stakes spurs today with a  game wire-to-wire triumph Saturday in the $190,000 Del Mar Mile, a supporting feature on the day of the 20th running of the $1 million Pacific Classic.   With jockey Joel Rosario in ...Read More
Sunday’s pick six from Del Mar includes the Grade 2 Del Mar Handicap for 3-year-olds and up traveling eleven furlongs on the turf course. Morning line favorite Champ Pegasus was beaten a length in a weak renewal of the Grade 3 Sunset but this race did not come up strong and the lightly raced Mandell...Read More
Seven evenly matched turf runners will go to the post Saturday in the 24th version of the Grade II, $250,000 Del Mar Mile on the Jimmy Durante Turf Course.   Blue Chagall, Bruce's Dream, Golden Mexico and Moudez are entering the race off a victory, but the field is very competitive, with two ot...Read More
Though the race still is two weeks away, the $1-million Pacific Classic Presented by TVG is already shaping up as a potentially large field.   At least 12 early prospects are already on board tentatively, led by defending champion Richard's Kid and Hollywood Gold Cup winner Awesome Gem, who wi...Read More

  • humphrey · A very good horse from Hastings, ran third last year in this race and recently just missed breaking a 35 year old track record at 8.5f, has a good shot in this one: Teide. This horse was initially the property of Darley Stud in England but was culled to bring in more classic prospects and sold to Swift Thoroughbreds of Vancouver. He is part of a stable of yearling purchase (Burj Dubai, originally cost 1 million US and Nuumany, a huge strapping AP Indy that was over $800K) along with several lesser ones who grace the winner's circle on a regular basis. · 1352 days ago ·
The largest group of European equine invaders in the last seven years remains on schedule for an Atlantic crossing in time for the upcoming Grade I Arlington Million now two and a half weeks away on Aug. 21.   That list is headed by Kirsten Rausing’s Lady Jane Digby, a 5-year-old mare who defe...Read More
